48 per cent of iOS users access at least one mobile loyalty scheme compared to 32 per cent on Android.
One in ten Apple users said that they would sign up for a mobile wallet scheme, where as 12 per cent preferred to go in-store to redeem a discount or offer sent to their phone, reveals CloudZync.
One in two iPhone owners have access to some form of mobile loyalty scheme, making them the most loyal shopper. They were closely followed by 43 per cent of Windows Phone users, BlackBerry with 38 per cent and Android with just 32 per cent.
The average consumer is now connected to around eight loyalty schemes through their mobile device, and 74 per cent of British smartphone owners are now aware of mobile wallet solutions, whether they use them or not.
Consult Hyperion revealed that 64 per cent of the US would never use a mobile wallet (http://www.mobile-ent.biz/news/read/64-per-cent-of-us-would-never-use-a-mobile-wallet/022566), while 58 per cent of UK consumers were far more accepting of the technology.
Andrew Smith, cofounder and CTO of CloudZync, commented: “The smartphone could and should put an end to loyalty card ‘wallet bulge’ – even as it supercharges the loyalty schemes retailers still use to engage consumers.”
In related news, CloudZync launched their own mobile wallet back in August (http://www.mobile-ent.biz/news/read/m-commerce-service-cloudzync-launches-mobile-payment-service/022126%20%20%20), with 280 merchants already signed up as it was rolled.
