The iOS and Android release for FIFA 14 has been downloaded over 26m times, EA has revealed.
It’s the first time the series has been released as a free-to-play title. It’s unknown how that sales performance compares to its premium £2.99-priced predecessor.
For comparison Pocket Gamer (http://www.pocketgamer.biz/r/PG.Biz/FIFA+14/news.asp?c=55168) reports that the console version of last year’s FIFA 13 sold 14.5m units – although, of course, at around £40 per shot that’s likely to convert into a far greater revenue return.
The game has also topped the free iOS charts in 148 countries and has ranked in the Top Ten Grossing charts of 155 countries.
