Also, not being able to put the PSP in sleep mode or power down by holding power slide up for 4 seconds is really annoying. It takes like 10 seconds to get the PSP to forcefully shut off.

was this something that was intentionally added in the v3 update? i would hate that as i use the sleep mode quite often. any more info on this phenomenon from anyone else?

Hmmm has anyone seen what PS3News has had to say about this? I would just go straight to their site but it is probably the most spyware abundant site I have ever visited in my life. And to think, I used to actually get news from there.

nvm all my questions i just ran it and saw the anti ps3news site thing, and updated, and it went successfully, and the vshmenu is extremely helpful/useful

Slepp mode seems fine on all my PSP's!

Well upon further experimenting, it looks like sleep mode DOES work during both GAMES and XMB which is a relief.

I'm not sure why I was having problems at first. Maybe its when the XMB is set to a low speed like 75 or 100, that's when sleep mode won't work.

The built in XMB menu is amazingly convenient. Perhaps one of the biggest annoyances has been that some games need to be played at higher CPU speeds if CiSO'd to prevent lag and going into recovery was a hassle to have to do back and forth for different games. This eliminates that.

Thanks again M33 Team!

I just need to figure out why my SVCapture plugin stopped working on XMB, GAMES, & homebrew now. Maybe I overwrote something in the seplugins folder when updating to this latest update.

dejkirkby & veskgar: thanks for the update. i'm going to update when i get home, does anyone know a good write up on playing ps1 games on the newer firmware. they talk about pops loaders, but i don't remember having to use anything special if i used ice tea to make the games from iso

Okay after some investigating I have finally figured out what the problem is with not getting 333mhz in the XMB. After disabling my VSHAnalog (which switches the analog and Dpad and vice verca in the XMB) I can get 333mhz in the XMB but there still remains to be some issues. Now see I asked in my last post what the HOME button menu thing was, the reason I didn't know what it did was because while having the VSHAnalog enabled in the Recovery menu the HOME button menu wouldn't come up. The strange thing is the VSHAnalog plugin doesn't use the HOME button just the 2 volume buttons to switch between the Dpad and Analog. After disabling this I could get 333mhz but I still had small bugs, such as the mhz not staying at 333mhz (going back to 222mhz) and then freezing in the XMB. My PSP would freeze and just act funny even after disabling the plugin, so I have gotten back to 3.52 M33-2. I haven't experienced ANY of these issues with previous versions of M33 firmwares, but please someone report these bugs and hopefully we will get a M33-4 fix.

Veskgar,I experienced similar slow power off and sleep mode in other programs when I turned the clock speed way down.I'm pretty sure that's what it was.

I'm still debating whether to update,I'm on m33-1,m33-2 and 3.4OE.

Well when I had my XMB at 333 and then it would randomly switch to 222, after that my xmb would act funny, freeze, or the power switch just wouldn't work unless I held it for like 10secs. I think M33 needs to fix all these bugs and release a new update because I think they rushed this release or something but it has bugs that's why I went back to M33-2.

Yeah.

THIS TIME U ALL BETTER MAKE SURE U WAIT & READ BEFORE UPGRADE.

As for yankee paranoids, a little word about the "brickers" issue. We repeat it again: THERE IS NO MALICIOUS CODE inside M33.
Some of the files of this update are protected by encryption schemes to protect ourselves from that page that annoys homebrew developers.
The keys for the decryption: the own update file. So if the file is changed, the decrypted data is not the original one, and this causes the
wrong data to be written. There is no way you can call this malicious code asthere is no explicit code to brick nothing, it is the corruption of the update what actually causes the bad decrypted data to be written.

hey guys this is my first post! ... I am currently at dark alex's 3.40 OE and I want to know how do i do about updating to 3.52 m33 -4

Do i need to install m33-1 and then the -2 file and then -3 and finally -4 ... that sounds like a hard time for me and a possible brick ... because I have only used offical sony firmware upto 2.0 and then a year later changed over to 3.40OE and no experience in between versions ... I just liked using the E-loader on the photo menu for homebrew and thats it...

Also now my UMD reader broke a month ago and id like to ask if the 3.52 will allow cso's to load in the game menu (on 3.40oe, I tryed the "No-umd" mode and the 333 cpu speed for games and just a black screen and the psp shuts off when I try to load a umd image ...

Yes I know I should not discuss iso's on this site but all I need to know is a simple yes or no as I own 8 psp umd's and really want to be able to play them again ..

Thanks and a good how to for upgrading would very be helpful .. but ill keep searching and reading myself.

Can anyone get this 3.52 m33 loader to work on windows XP service pack2 and I have .net 2/0, and 3/0 Installed already, and its a genuine copy or XP professional with alot of the Windows updates installed.

here what I want on my psp ... I am using 3.40OE from dark alex
: Easy 3.52 M33 v2.2 Beta

and no luck when I open the program all I get is a box and looks messed up on the desktop like its freezing the computer, and I have to "alt ctrl and delete" the program off.

Also a side question- Does 3.52m33 support no-umd mode for (iso;'s) ... My umd drive is broken and I own games right now and want to play them on the psp with custom firmware but cannot when I copy them to my memory stick in the iso folder .

Thanks for any help guys!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Hi all, just upgraded my virgin 1.5 PSP yesterday, been wanting to do it for a long time now but didn't have the cojones to do it...so finally here I am on 3.52 M33-4 and it's The Mierda so far but my questions are 1st and foremost did I pick a great custom firmware to start with or should I upgrade some more or stay on a certain one. Can anyone suggest a manual or something that describes what I can do with custom firmware and how to use it? Last but not least what happens if I were to restore default setting via XMB or change to another memory stick, oh and what's wrong with the LocationFree Player...By the way DAX is The Mierda. Thanx for your time.

Thanx acn for the help but there's nothing in the instructions that answers any of my questions...but my guess about one of my questions is that 3.90 is the best custom firmware right now according to you...By the way I wasn't using a translating engine I was just saying that DAX is The Man in spanish instead of typing the curse word because I thought I would get into trouble with the Forums, oh and I'm not Mexicano I'm Puerto Rican...Peace!
