the chamber of secrets was a very good place for hidding the diadem.
it's protected by a huge snake, you must speak sparseltong to enter in,and we are sure that absolutly [B]nobody[B]knew where it was, exept voldmort himself.(harry only discovered it 50 years later)

yeah, but 50 years l8r harry tells dumbuldore he might think to take a look. and voldi didnt think that any one knew about the room of requierment.

hm it doesn't make sens
the chamber of secrets was better protected and there was already mountains of hidden items in the room of requirement so it was conspicuous to voldemort other people knew about this room.

and don't forget that only parseltong speaking person could enter the chamber of secrets.

so the chamber was a highly better place:D

why the hell would voldermort hide rowenas diadem inside the camber of secrets when one of the only things that can destroy a hocrux is basilisk venom.

if the horcrux was ever found then a means of destroying it would be very close.

also if hidden in the chamber of secrets and it was found it would seem to be important and it would be studied closer ...... however hiding it with lots of other hidden things it seems less important therefor less likely to draw attention to itself

well..... there is the answer to your question
