I think its the PSP-290. Maybe they develop a smaller one.

smaller than die PSP-290? Hmm.
I think it will come to the european market.

But bad for sony - I've already imported my GPS unit ;)

And they write about the VoIP Plugin.
So you can "skype" with your psp.

Some Firmware versions ago, someone found a file called "skype_plugin.prx".

So long - stay tuned ;)

This will be the psp-290 i suppose. Only the mapdeal is done by TeleAtlas and Navigon.

Developping a whole new device for Europe costs MUCH money. Sony isn't stupid, the psp-290 also works in Europe.

See the ChottoShot camera, it was renamed for Europe into Go!Cam.

Or the Talkman, also developped in Japan and called Talkmate (or something) here.

If Skype comes for psp, then i will buy a headset from Socom OR a Talkman/Webcam (which bot have the mic in them).

I do not think they are releasing a new GPS.
I think they are releasing PSP-290 with European software.

Previously PSP-290 is only sold in Japan because only Japanese software is available.

yes, GPS-Software is coming for europe in february 2008.

I think it will be the same PSP-290-Module like I've got.

I don't want to know what Sony wants to have for that software...

But the Slim-PSP looks nice to me.... I hope the Pandora's Box - Unbricker works with that SlimPSP too.

PSP Slim + Pandora would be super :)

I e-mailed Sony right after i imported my 290 module and i havent heard from them since i offered to betatest software for them here in sunny Sweden ;)

The maps will be superb, but wait:

Deniska has the 3d mode already :)

Now he only has to make the buildings 3d and it's equal to the Sony / Teleatlas maps which AREN'T FOR FREE :D

Wouldn't the Go!Explore software also do live routing??

Yes off course it will do that.

Because maps are vector oriented, not image.

On an image only dots exist, and which dots are roads ?

And which dot on which image is which road ?

So it is very hard to calculate.

Vector maps are just lines with name: 2nd street.

They have a math formula which tells how long the line is (how long the street is).

The new maps for Go!Explore MIGHT have the new Sony dedicated Nav-U technology. See this:
