POI-Icons - a summary

Hello folks!

After creating some routs and travelling around, I missed a function to display some different GAS-Stations and, let's say, special restaurants.

So I created some POI-Icons for the famous gas-stations in Germany (ARAL, SHELL, JET) and for the two fast-food-restaurants McDonalds and Burger King.

Then I searched for the different locations and edited the POI-file with the different Images. You find this file as an example and the icons attached on this post.

I hope you enjoy them!

If you have ideas of new POI-Icons - let me know. If you want to make some yourself, post them here.

ey man do you how to make all those icons show up on your map all at the same time?? not like 1 poi for each store??? i want it to be ONE POI for all the stores and to make them show up all at the same time...thanks for the icons!!

just concatenate them in one file

sorry deniska for asking again...but how do i merge them into 1 file?? and how do i adjust the sound messages such as left turn and right turn so it will alert me earlier dan wat u put on default??

Just open the different _POI-Files with an texteditor like the one who comes with windows. Look at my _MIX-File as an example...

To get the notification earlier, look into the config-file, there is a value called WARNINGDISTANCE, that you can set. It's quote easy.

I extended your icons,
Gasstations: AGIP,ARAL,BP,ESSO,HEM,JET,SHELL,TAMOIL,TEXACO and TOTAL
Fasstfood: BURGER KING,McDONALDS and SUBWAY
and a icon for German Post and EURO for Banks.
I have insert the pio-files for germany too.

But one bug is in, when i choose all gasstations, he shows me all icons but not the TOTAL.
When i choose the TOTAL alone, he shows me the icon.

due to psp's memory limitations you can only have up to 10 different poi icons on screen at a time...

ahh, then i think the limt is 9, all gasstation are 10 because he shows me only 9 of 10 gasstations.

i have one question. Why isn't it possible to use different poi's?
i can select one poifile in time, but not two. it would be nice when
i create a route, and take a look for other pois too.

for example: i go from Hamburg to Berlin and want to look at a gasstation or radar

Workaround:
Put POIs and the Route in one file, POIs at first (haven't tested it with the Route at first).
It works on my PSP.

Possible to implement an option in MapThis to switch On or Off different POIs and/or Routes.

Here 3 Icons.
One for Geochaching, one for Route Start and one for Route End (Google's Route Icons).
Use "!IMAGE:route_start.png," instead of "!IMAGE:circle.png,"
and copy/move "!IMAGE:circle.png," before your second one,
and "!IMAGE:route_end.png," before your last waypoint.
It's not perfect because there is also MapThis's green bubble
at the end of the route and the route lines are over the icons.
But for me it's OK.

MapThis is THE Outdoor Killerapp for the PSP
(but there must be a better display from 3rd party)
