-disabled map boundry restrictions:
you should be able to follow a route off the map w/o annoing popup mesage..
- better shared objects handling (seems to be very robust under 3.51 FW - no crushes yet)
-fixed relaxed lookup bug
- better zoom in/out logic
- new sounds
- better "speed limit" logic / graphics

Test and let me know if you find any bugs / problems
(this update needs to be installed on top of 0.5 version)

[EDIT] added the source code to the archive..

Great Deniska thanks for this new version, updated RIGHT away:)

Can you put the speed independant zoom, and this feature in:

Configgable keys. I want to set my own key for zoomin/out. Not forward backward but Ltrigger and Rtrigger :)

A keys.cfg or ini file or something can be edited. :)

Maybe I can still contribute....

Phase one- get PSP
Phase two - make it homebrewable
Phase three - get a gps
Phase four...pay mortgage

If I can help - I am in
*or build a pacifier for the crowd

My config:
PSP odler than TA082 (079 probably) running 3.40 OE-A, no plugins, 4GB red sandisk, GPS PSP290, various maps 10-200MB. Mapthis in "Game" folder.

Hi deniska. I have a freezing problem with mapthis. It freezes very often, even with last 0501 ver. It happens mainly when changing scale (up/down) of the map then only fragment of picture is drawn and it freezes. After that sometimes it even doesn't "auto power off". After restarting and running mapthis again it freezes on "Please wait while map is loading". Then various things could help me out: deleting map_pref.txt (but the file itself looks OK) or re-inserting memory stick. All other homebrews is running fine. Do you think its a problem related only with my psp or this is a bug? Sometimes it works for an 1 hour without crash and sometimes it crashes every second minute. Only thing that looks connected with this from my user point of view is a moment of tile reading (file i/o). Could it be fw related (i can up to 3.52 M33 if needed) ?

Try upgrading FW to 3.51/52 M33 - I am running 3.51 and have not had any problems since upgrade...
Please report your findings..

So, i upgraded to 3.52M33 (first release). It works now! No crashes yet at all!
The visible difference compared to my old 3.40OE-A is with the screen refreshing. When i change scale now, the tiles are redrawed very smoothly at constant speed. With my old 3.40OE-A it wasnt like that, it was "disturbed" in some way, sometimes faster or slower.
So it looks that my problem is gone  thank you and keep going !

Now if Deniska could add the Google Earth zoom like PSPMapviewer 2.0 it would be superb.

Or unnessesary ;) You decide....

I'm doubting.

1st of all sry for my bad english, i hope u understand what i want.

Is there a way to mark the way that u have been driven? Or is that already implemented? I know u can mark the way u drive if u hold a key (dunno which one, maybe cross). But could you implement a function that u can mark ur way without holding any keys? That would be awesome!

I`m using the 0.5 version with ta-082 board and 3.40oe and have the same problem as Brokoslav. Its freezing very often and thats very annoying ^^. I`m recharging my PSP now and going for 3.51/52

cool il try this out, i hope it fixes the annoying crash of mapthis when you zoom in or out too fast, and i mean too fast as in double tapping the up or down button. a few things that would be cool to have in future releases, to be able to get a full route from point a to b on the PSP without the need of wifi, maybe using a stored database of addresses and a form of the script you can use in the PSP web browser. and somthing that should be pretty simple is to have multiple speed warnings that go off as you reach each pre defined speed

hmm.. strange, for me it just worked, i haven't had a single crash from upgrade, but im not on ta82.. try using different prx's maybe? or try to disable some plugins if you are using them? on 3.40oea i have never find the cause of freezing or connection with something that could affect it...

Ive got both the old mobo PSP and the Ta mobo and it all works fine for me, no plugins, no customboots no fuzz just a plain Custom 3-52 M33-4 and it all works for me! oh yeah, i always extract my own .prx files :) This eliminates corrupt ones and headache :)

for me the generic version did not work well in the map mode.. looks like most of the threads die out at start, so there is not music, tile updates etc..
let me know if someone has different results with generic version on the slim...

BTW, psp-290 version works just fine on the M33 3.60 CF slim with 3.0 prx files (encrypted) extracted with M33 psardumper

Thanks a million Deniska. I just tried out the beta and it works great for me. Also, the new music plugin works fine with it for those that are interested.

TA-79 Mobo
3.52 M33 update 4
3.52 prx's from my PSP
055 Beta Music prx

Also, I'm taking a trip out of state in a month (or so) and I'll be using Map This for the drive. It's about a 900 mile trip (one way) across the South-Eastern U.S. It will be a nice test for Map This and GMDL.

Just check your installation - you probably did something wrong... You did install the 0.5.01 files over the 0.5 version, right?

If you replaced the voiceprompts with prompts where people inhaled Helium and recorded them just delete those or overwrite them with new better prompts :)

posts like this are usually ignored, but since you are obviously new... try explaining what your exact problem is (including hardware/software configuration and the steps that you did)
Also it never hurts do do a bit of reading/research before you post, since people tend to run in to the same problems over and over again..

Hi, I'm having trouble with starting Map This on my Fat PSP 3.90 M33. After startin it gives:
"Could not start USB ACC driver".

I am not to extract USBACC.prx and USBGPS.prx from my PSP as there is no "kn" directory in Flash(0). Instead it has "km" directory. But there are'nt USBACC.prx and USBGPS.prx inside.

Q: there can I get these files for my 3.90M33.

The archive with the executables are attached to the root post. You may need to install custom firmware to be able to run it... read the forums/tutorials for details...

Did yo try to run the latest 0.520 version?

If it still does not work - you may want to re-install the firmware OR try older versions of mapthis (4.9XX) - they load external driver files, which you still need to extract or find somewhere...

Hi Deniska,

I'm using the FAT PSP - cfw 3.71-M33 and GPS - PSP-290

I had installed the mapthis 0.52 into the game/371/mapviewer

I can open the mapthis, and I can see the GPS info with satelite info. However, I can't see the myself as the moving object. For example, spead remain at 0.0 and bearing and altitude display as --

Am I missing any step ? Please advise.

Deniska is there any way to convert fbl maps to work in mapthis, and is there any way you can fix it to auto load a map, like if you was going out of missouri to kansas for it to change to the state that you are going into?

As for your first question, no, see also http://en.wikibooks.org/wiki/Map_This!#Can_I_use_my_TomTom_maps_and_POIs_in_Map _This.21.3F. The same applies for basically any vector based map.

As for your second question, see my signature for a modified Map This! version, which supports automatically switching to the most detailed map for your current location.

gmdl allows to remove "unwanted" parts of the map in order to save space.. So for your map you may try creating the "bigger" square, which includes all areas that you are interested in and then remove the part that you don't want...

Ok I'got it to work ok, but one more thing. is there a way to get just one level on the map without having to ucheck levels,,like I only want level 3 ,not 4,5,6,7 and so on...without the blank maps for those levels. What I want to do is have level 3 for my state maps and 3,2,1, for my city maps. But no blank maps for anything over 3.

Why are you using MapThis 05.01? The current version is 05.20, search for this version and download it.
