SofiyaCat has released a new version of PSPTube which lets you watch Youtube on your PSP. Google comes up very short in the translation department so i wont bother but safe to say try it yourself and let us all know what you think is new and improved.

Does this have an offline mode? You know, so you can watch some videos with no access to a wireless router.

Yes, place the .flv files in the favorites folder and pick offline when loading up.

it appears you need the original version on ur psp first as it has files that this download is missing.

if i dont edit this post that means i was right, as the original download was 6+ MB.

I think your right it's quite small in size unless it bewwn shortened.

loading lucida console.....done.....

crash crash crash!

PER QJ:

Dont bother. SofiyaCat stated that this version does NOT work with CFW, so we have to use pandora/devhook.

How can you make something not compatible to custom firmware? It's pretty hard to do :/

is this working on m33?
it is not working for me
it says "no config" or "tiff open font failed..."

Me either. I got the msgothic.ttc font from here that it needed and placed it in the font folder: http://web.mit.edu/cktruong/Public/FONTS/

It loads then goes to initializing network, then crashes. I'm on M33-4. It would be great to get it going as the config file includes new modes apparently.

SiteList = "YouTube", "NicoNico", "SHOUTcast", "GoogleImage"

It's not working on custom firmware m33-4. I used the 1.50 files for it to just load up, but after that, no luck. The first version of PSPtube loaded way better...

It may actually be true that only 1.0 or 1.5 work with this version but I'm not about to downgrade to try this out. The previous version though does actually work on custom fw. It's in the 2.0over folder. I tried it and that worked nicely, however there is no support for wpa so you have to set the wifi to wep.

the past versions have been working fine for me this one is giving me a hard time, and have no clue what is wrong. is it some new config or something.

what steps did the people who got it working take??

I think using Devhook should work using custom firmware but I bought my PSP at a time when there wasn't much use for it, so I'm unfamiliar with it. Could someone devise a Devhook tutorial with it?

Thanks a lot.

And thanks. i didn't know that about it.

I've used it before but I kept getting this error that said something about having to have something configured. I'll try out later when my wireless internet is back up.

remind me, how do you download the videos for offline use again?

usp8riot
September 10th, 2007, 16:04
This is what's fixed in this edition, via google translation:

0908 experimental editions

* Processing of the IDCT part of On2VP5,6 was optimized
* Processing of the filter part of On2VP6 was optimized
* In order to do same period on audio side, it corrected
* When image is late with the animated picture of On2VP6, in order to take same period with black and white conversion and coercive frame skip, it corrected
* The trouble which is stopped playback midway was corrected
* Processing of the animated picture playback part was taken a second look, the thread was decreased
* Memory leak was corrected
* You do not encode animated picture with PSP, don't you think?? With the [tsu] lever the encoding part was deleted and cord/code size was reduced
* Having modified the Favorites folder, it corrected the trouble where the tip of downloading the animated picture does not change
* In order to connect to network in the network setting dialogue, it modified
* FreeType2 (TureType? Font library) it installed, (it is heavy the [yo])
* The ogre car (the regular expression library) it installed
* The network initialization part was corrected
* The decoding processing of MP3 MediaEngine? In order so to do, it corrected. The processing of On2VP6 became quick. *2 *3
* Processing of message XML of the certain animated picture sight was mounted suitably

From what I can gather, a CFW edition is apparently being worked on. I had no luck with this one as it is "experimental" at this point so I'm currently using the 08/17 version from the site: http://translate.google.com/translate?u=http%3A%2F%2Fnekomimi.cafe.coocan.jp%2 Fwiki%2F%3F%25CA%25AA%25C3%25D6%23a24210f3&langpair=ja%7Cen&hl=en&safe=off&ie=UTF-8&oe=UTF-8&prev=%2Flanguage_tools

ok, but why aint this working on 3.52 M33 like the previous releases?

CaptainMorgan4
September 10th, 2007, 21:38
Because he didn't include a 300 or over folder for installing on custom firmwares. We need someone to KXPloit it for GAME352 or just wait for him to update it again since he left the custom firmware version out (for some odd reason). If and when this does happen could someone upload a working CFG file because I know what I'm doing with changing the dev id's and everything but I always get it working but not showing the thumbnails for the videos, when my CFG file IS CORRECT. (don't tell me it isn't I have had many people review it and don't know why I'm getting the error)

Looking forward to this release working with M33. But doesn't it work even if you put the 1.50 version and run it from iR Shell?

(Gloats from his high 3.4 OE-A stool) Lolz, this is what you all get for using m33 ;)

So OE will play this fine? I still prefer M33 over it. :) A new version with full support is confirmed to be around the corner!

sorry to say but i was disepionted where is the files for oe or m33? this was not the best i liked the earlyer one with the support for custom firmware its more user in that than 1.5 =(

masterelite9
September 11th, 2007, 22:26
I can comfirm that it works on the Devhook-emulated 1.50 with pretty much no problem. It's awesome :D . The weird TTF_Openfont: Failed error still occurs, but instead of crashing, it goes straight to the keyboard where you search for videos. So I guess you should use Devhook for now if you wanna use it.

blackrave
September 11th, 2007, 23:07
Thanks for the tip, masterelite9! I'll install DevHook with 1.50 just for this, then. I dislike the nasty bug where the videos stop half-ways in the previous version, and this seems to be fixed in this new version. Again, I hope for an updated version soon.

Your animated signature image is nice, by the way. :)

masterelite9
September 12th, 2007, 02:43
Heh, thanks. Anyway, I hope a "200over" version is released soon, then I won't have to use Devhook. :)
