umm.... for 1.5 versions can't you use pspbrew to change it back to a 1.0 eboot.pbp? Or does that really matter?

darksoft
September 11th, 2007, 05:43
I'm not sure. I'm going to see if hexaxis will run from 1.0, I just always kxploit it when i output them.

I'm getting no homebrew to Work on 3.60 M33 on slim. I've tried CPS1, CPS2, MVS, Daedalus, Mame4all (not the latest), gpsp, snes9x tyl, all of them tell me that it's impossible for the game to start (8002014E) :( Supposedly some of this should work, and I've tried both from GAME and GAME150 folder just in case, no success.

On the other hand, pops and backups work. I hope devs start porting their homebrew to the slim with the M33 tools

Any Ideas for these:

SNES9xTYL 0.4.2 I've tried the non-me version doesn't boot
SNES9xTYL 0.2 C Doesn't boot (non-me)

Try the standard 0.3 version (worked on Hen, I believe), can be downloaded from QJ.

Can't wait to see it. Tomorrow I'll check different versions for all the emus to see what's working and what doesn't. Latest mame4all doesn't though :(

Try converting some of the eboots to 1.0 forms if they only come in 1.50 forms.

darksoft
September 11th, 2007, 18:21
EDIT & UPDATE: SNES9xTYL 0.3 works! But as with 0.3 on fat its a bit slow.

Yeah I'll give that .3 snes a shot today. Would be great to get the newest working, but any will do for now I guess. I tried both 1.0 (not 1.5) versions and non-me so far.

Video is almost ready. I'll post it as news and in this thread.

have you tied using the 1.50 version and converting that to 1.0 I don't know if that will make a difference but it's worth a try.

Whoa, compatibility sucks.

Thinking that a lot of things that won't work will never work, as they are for 1.5, and are closed source... I'm good with my Fat :D

SNES9xTYL 0.3 RUNS now and I tested Mario 64 in Daedalus R12 which runs great!

urherenow
September 11th, 2007, 19:56
don't say they will never work. If the creators didn't delete thier source code it doesn't take much at all to create a 3.6 compatible eboot.

And as others have already suggested here, many more things will run when converted to a 1.0 eboot. This can be easily done with pspbrew.

Just tested psp revolution 0.3 1.0 eboot version, works perfectly! w00t

ps. love my new sexy silver slim.

update:

Just tested the cps2 emulator test5 version 1.0 eboot

and happy to report it works nicely, with some fps spikes just like the normal psp.

pichon
September 12th, 2007, 09:03
And how can i convert them?

pichon
September 12th, 2007, 14:24
Ok, very low compatibility as far as I've tested. I've got to work as mentioned, daedalus, gpsp, nesterj and popstation.

however no luck with mame4all, cps1, cps2, mvs. I've tried on CPS2 from latest to 1.66 , both 1.0 and 1.50 with no luck. I won't try any more versions since they will lack too many features to be worthwhile.
I think source code for CPS1, CPS2 and MVS emus is available so hopefully someone can take it and compile it again with the m33 tools and make them work on slim.

One thing, if you can't get emus to work, even those that are confirmed to work like daedalus r12, format the ms. I got nothing to work until I formatted the ms, don't know why.

Hey Pichon,

cps2 emulator test5 version 1.0 eboot works as posted, feel free to check it out for yourself. I haven't yet.

pichon
September 12th, 2007, 19:17
really? I tried test 4 if I remember well and it didn't, it would be great since that was a pretty much finished version, I'll check it out now

pichon
September 12th, 2007, 20:25
I couldn't find test 5, but 1.66 works (normal version, not the kernel one) which should be a more recent version.

EDIT: Well, CPS2 1.66 works, also CPS1 1.63 and MVS 1.63, always non kernel versions :)

Anybody know how to make bookr work on the PSP Slim? That's the most important homebrew IMHO as the psp is a fantastic pdf reader.

According to this link:

http://pspslimhomebrew.com/index.php?option=com_content&task=view&id=5

it is working but the link they provide for bookr is NOT working. :(

Cheers!

Anyone else getting a weird bug where the backlight switches back to the dimmest setting when playing PSX games?

I had this happen with a real PlayStation Store downloaded game, on official firmware, so I'm certain it has nothing to do with the M33 firmware.

Great news about snes and NJ emus moving to slim :)

I have one problem however, I can't make any big game for neogeo to work on mvspsp, I first copied directly the games and caches from my fat psp, and they didn't work. Then I converted my roms with the converter that comes with the zip, put the game on roms and the cache in the cache folder of the emu, but I keep getting "file not found or CRC32 not correct CPU1" , any ideas?Any other game that doesn't need cache work.

EDIT: Ok, now they work, at least Garou, the converter that comes with this pack DOESN'T WORK, at least for me. Download normal 2.0 from here http://dl.qj.net/MVSPSP-v2.0-PSP-Emulators/pg/12/fid/12752/catid/126 and use that converter and they will work.:D

Hey guys, I can confirm that everything is outputing to tvout perfectly. I can also confirm that you can switch the brightness to level 4 on everything.

Once again TV out is working for everything! (With component anyway)

I went to circuit city to test out the emu's on different tv's and the best one for it so far is one of the cheapest:

VIZIO VX32L (http://www.circuitcity.com/ssm/Vizio-32-LCD-HDTV-VX32L/sem/rpsm/oid/185075/catOid/-12869/rpem/ccd/productDetail.do) @ 599 shipped.
I also have a coupon good till I think 9/17/07 for $15 off: vnazkssa3e

It has zoom feature on the remote + and -, and screenmode button to cycle through them. Most of the tv's that had this functionality were a pain in the but to get to in the menus and not practical while playing a game to switch it like that. This one is basically, 3 button presses for any emu and its ready fullscreen (or at least close to fullscreen, as mostly everything is not widescreen naturally)

Vizios are fantastic TVs and stand far above the rest of the "inexpensive" HDTV crowd.

They're midrange HDTVs for bottom of the barrel prices. You can't beat that. Both of my HDTVs are Vizios, and sometimes I am accused of being a bit of a cheerleader for the brand. But give me two good Vizios for the cost of a single Samsung any day.

Plus, the way I see it, HDTV (especially LCD) technology is moving too fast that there's no justifying spending top dollar for the top-of-the-line stuff, when it will be worse than the cheap stuff 2 years from now.

I've found this list useful for 3.71m33 as well, since it's just basically all stuff that runs without the 1.50 kernel.

NesterJ NES Emulator 1.11 (1.00 version not 1.50) unzips zips

A clarification on this: NesterJ 1.11 works just fine. 1.20 (with netplay) unfortunately does not.
