News from SonnyJim:

Amadeus has managed to fix the C++ toolchain for DSLinux and is currently in the process of porting the PIXIL suite.

It's probably more than likely that this will require some kind of RAM in Slot-2.

Impresive job.
I had some serious doubts they could get a GUI working. Any comments about the speed?

It's quite slow at the moment, like 2 seconds between clicking something and it actually responding. It's very early days yet though.

Just a quick update, PIXIL should now be in the DLDI builds available on Stsp's server (http://page.mi.fu-berlin.de/sperling/dslinux/builds/dslinux-dldi.tgz). Also enabled is the ViewML webbrowser. It's currently very slow but people are working on making things faster.

Also I'm looking for someone to make some new icons for PIXIL, specifically a poweroff icon. See here for more details on how you can help (http://dslinux.org/f0rums/viewtopic.php?t=358). There's lots to be done and not all of it requires programming skills.

EDIT: To run PIXIL you'll probably need some kind of RAM expansion in Slot-2. Type
/usr/pixil/nxstart.sh to start

Looks really nice, but too bad I need a Ram extension.

Does the 8MB ram cart from OperaDS work or do I have to get a 32 MB one?
