Hello,
The title says it all really.I just got my cable from pc-mobile today and hooked my gps up to my psp.It won't work.It acts as if there's no gps connected at all.Is there something simple that I'm missing?

I have a PSP-1003(from Europe btw) and I have firmware versoin 3.52 M33-4.It works without the cable but it is slow at locking on.Any help would be very much appreciated.
Thank you in advance.

Have you connected the left power pin of the GPS module to the contact on top of the psp?, If not then thats the reason it won't work:)

Thank you for your quick response.I'm using the cable so the gps won't be directly touching the psp.Unless you mean the power pin of the cable. In which case it's in as far as it will go.

could you post a picture of the set-up, if it's not recognising the 290 being connected at all then it's probably a loose connection, or less likely, incorrect PRX files.

also I'm assuming it's this cable?

Does the power pin on the male end of the cable stop the mini usb connector from being pushed into the socket all the way, it seems from the pictures that it may be the problem. other than that it would have to be a problem with the cable seeing as the 290 works when directly connected to the unit

Thanks again Nylon but the cables seems to be what's at fault. The male end goes in as far as any other mini usb end goes in.I have sent an email to pc-mobile and maybe they can help me.

Havent had any problem with my cable i ordered too, it works great with my GPS and my Camera :)
Could it be that youre a TA-082 Mobo user and you havent cleaned your registrykeys on your PSP after running Custom Gameboots etc, check the last flashguide and download the second keycleaner i link to in it and see if that helps ;)

Thanks everybody for your input but the only conclusion i can come to is that it's a faulty cable.I used the cleaner.while i didn't think it was the problem as it works without the cable(slow lock ons) I gave it a go anyway. It patched one key but still nothing.Could someone post a few HQ pictures of their setups please?Just so I can put the wrong setup theory to rest.

Well you saw my setup :)
Tested on two PSPs with old Mobos, One with TA-082 Mobo but i havent added any bootloaders because i like to have my PSPs as clean and functional as possible.

Do you run Custom FW 3.52 M33-4 and did you download your own .prx files by following my guides.

That always seams to help, that and running Map This v0.5 ;)

All the information is in my first post btw.I am running 3.52 M33-4 and am using the 3.52 .prx files that I extracted myself using various PBP unpackers and dumpers. It works without the cable but I am hoping for enhanced performance using this cable.

Btw I am using mapthis v.0.5.1

If it works without the cable it should work with it ;)
I saw that meny people tipped you to press the cable down tight and the GPS unit too :)

could it be a bad cable.

Thanks you PDG for your continuous input but I'll just have to wait until I get a reply from PC-Mobile.I've tried everything at this stage but to no avail. It must be a bad cable.I'm pretty angry because it's by no mean a cheap cable.(€16 incl delivery)
