With in7ane's release of the GMDL tool, I have come across (as many of you most probally have) the Custom and Google Tabs in the GeoData Section.

The Google tab keeps giving me the error:
"This Source is currently not supported"

So I had referred to the Custom Tab. I had visited the site it told me to:
http://en.wikibooks.org/wiki/Map_This%21#Custom
and it came to mind, why not start a site where we can all as a community create a GeoData file that is up to date and free!

I have the internet knowledge to create such a site, however I have a couple of queries.

The columns:

Lat
Lon
Name

are all compulsory, but will it allow route planning from just that information???

or do you need the city as well???

Next what does it mean by min number, max number??? It is confusing!

Finally how can it tell where streets start/end, do we need to at lat and lon for that too?? What do we call it?

Thanks I hope to start the site as soon as possible!

Something like this has already existed for quite a while: http://wiki.openstreetmap.org/index.php/Main_Page

Of course you can contribute there too :).

Thanks for the site, however I do not own a GPS Tracking thing... Is there any application for the PSP to do this...

Surprising enough, it does not have it for my area!!! :P

Can you not use a map and trace the roads on it, and label them???

EDIT: Dont Worry I found out how to do it... Making Maps NOW!
