Dear all,

It works for me on the fat version. I will start on the slim version immediately and let everyone know.

nikkinguyen

oh no. The update on my slim converted my psp into a DS!

Just joking. All is well. Mapthis works on the slim as well. thank goodness.

Hey, Nik, can you share what prx filex you used. I'm getting an error on 3.71. It states it can't find the usbaccl.prx.

i tot there is a lot of changes to the kernel for cfw 3.71

does it work with holux under GAME150?

Team M33 stated clearly that the Custom FW for 3.71 M33 does not have 1.50 kernel support (YET!)

The main installer will not install 1.50 kernel anymore.
A 1.50 kernel addon for 3.71 M33 that will install inside 3.71 M33 will be released in a
few days (for fat only)

There will be a 1.50kernel patch like a .prx plugin for this in the future hopefully.
But in the meantime we could just load a E-boot loader :D

eLoader v1.000
http://www.psp-hacks.com/file/1264

And because we now have a FAT and a Slim PSP unit could you guys be more specific of wich unit you have a question for or about :)

3.71 m33 only works on SLIM btw ;)

I upped my slim from 3.60 M33 to 3.71 M33 and i extracted my own .prx files but no luck, when MapThis v0.5 boots up i get a ( Error loading USBacc.prx, Map this starts without GPS )

I even tried my old .prx files from my Fat PSP runnint CFW 3.52 m33-4 without luck.
I put mapthis in the /PSP/GAME371 and I even tried the /PSP/GAME150 folder without luck.

Could it be that i have to find some older .prx files?

get the ones from 3.0 FW update they seem to work for me..

nikkinguyen
September 24th, 2007, 19:46
right. Don't bother extracting the one from 3.71. It is useless. I was hoping that it works and maybe faster, but that is not the case. I too got that error. So I stuck to the old prx(s).

Oh, I swap my 4gig memory stick from the fat to the slim and have no problem with mapthis in either versions. The GAME150 works for me for both (so I left it be). If you want, I can upload my setup (which is probably identical to yours). Just let me know.

I thought it was in M33s Slim section, it all gets so confusing ;)

But this one is for shure, the 3.71 Fw does not support 1.50 kernel yet ;)

I havent upped my Fat PSPs to 3.71 and tried to get those .prx files, is that what you did??

I think meny people will be confused of wich unit (Fat or Slim) to extract things from soon :D

Aah i see, I got mine from my new slim unit, i triggerd recovery and enabled usb for flash0 myselve on my Slim running 3.71 M33 and that did not work at all.

I tried nikkinguyen s .prx files when i got a break from work and they worked fine woth MapThis v0.5. (What FW are those files based on??)
http://www.dcemu.co.uk/vbulletin/showpost.php?p=522607&postcount=18

The diffrence between those and mine is the filesize.
Niks were:
usbacc.prx = 3,7 k
usbgps.prx = 28,5 k

Mine from my FAT-PSP CFW 3.52 M33-4:
usbacc.prx = 3,1 k
usbgps.prx = 16,2 k

Mine from my SLIM-PSP CFW 3.71 M33:
usbacc.prx = 3,0 k
usbgps.prx = 15,5 k

I never used m33 psardumper before because i thought that enabling USB from recovery and download the files from there worked as well, it did before anyways :D

I'm not sure if prx's in 3.71 M33 are encrypted or decrypted on the flash. I know they are still encrypted on 3.60 M33

I'd just use psardumer from http://m-33.narod.ru

I decrypt my PRX files (with psardumper) from firmware 3.0, and they work (3.52 M33-4, 3.60 M33,3.71 M33) much better than 3.52 prx files. Quantity of fixed satellite increased from 4 to 11 !!! I use 3.52 M33-4 firmware.

i noticed no difference between versions
it is working for me like always
all versions got the same amount of sattelites
and connecting is also the same
it only depents day by day, one day is faster then the other day

but maybe its just me
tommorow i try 2 versions 1 with 3.0 and 1 with 3.71
and see if there is a difference in time and connection

I used this Psar Dumper from M33:
http://www.psp-hacks.com/2007/09/14/m33-new-psardumper-released/

Then i Downloaded This Official 3.71 Upgrade:
http://www.psp-hacks.com/file/1259

I Unzipped the Psar dumper and tossed in the folder newpsardumper in my GAME352 folder on my Fat PSP running Firmware 3.52 m33-4 and the Official 3.71 Firmware i put in my Memstick Root folder, then i ran the Psardumper and selected ( Dump All - SQUARE )

After a while i had a new folder on my Memorystick called F0

In the F0 folder i stepped in to the folder kd
Then i selected usbacc.prx + usbgps.prx and copied them to my MapThis folder :)

Attatched the PSP-290 on my SLIM running 3.71 M33 and launched MapThis v0.5 and it worked fine.

The files are Encrypted so just following my guides and enabling USB for Flas0 does not really work because you only get Encrypted files wich has to be "Decrypted" *See it as a Locked and Unlocked file!*

Attatched my Dumped and Decrypted 3.71 .prx files to this reply :) *Enjoy*

Edit:
Ive uploaded a Video on YouTube of my Slim running MapThis v0.5 and 3.71 M33 with the .PRX files from the official 3.71 Fw.

glad to here youve got it
i dumped the psar with the circle option,i think the square option will do the same

i tryed the version of the 3.0 prx and 3.71 prx(dumped)
and must say that the 3.0 got 1 fix more than the 3.71 and also it looks like its a little faster in finding satellites ,the amount of them is the same
in 3.71 i got 4-5 fixes and in 3.0 5-6 fixes
and about 10 satt. total voor both versions
and 1 fix more means more stable ;)

It was probably due to less clouds blocking sats :)
There is no diffrence in locking on to sats what ive noticed.
Same result if you sit woth two PSP units running a 290 and diffrent .prx files from 3.0 and up.

I am still in the process of figuring out the new pin layout..
I posted a little serial comm test program (just source code) at ps2dev forums which should work in 3.71.. so if anyone feels like contributing - feel free to compile and test it (playing with new psp-remote cable plug)...

Use the new Mapthis Holux. You don´t need the 2 files.

Nieko
December 16th, 2007, 07:15
ich² means version 0.5.05 or higher, which indeed don't require you to extract PRX files anymore. You still do need the PSP-290/FW3.xx version, not the Generic/FW1.00 version. (The latter is for use with Holux devices on fat PSP.)

Nieko
December 16th, 2007, 09:30
That's not normal, every new firmware should have them. Map This! may also not work properly with PSP-290 if those two files (usbacc.prx and usbgps.prx) are not present in your firmware.

If that's the case, you should reconsider reinstalling your firmware.

20 minutes is really long, but it does depend on your location and speed. It seems you get the quickest fix outside with plenty of visible sky while standing still. Moving faster or indoors will take longer, if you get a fix at all.

If all fails, you could buy an extension cable from PC Mobile, it works wonders :). I used to get fixes in 3-4 minutes (using PSP-290), that's now down to 30-40 seconds.
