Beginning The Process

1. Download and unarchive the 14098_m33rel.zip and the 1.5 eboot.
2. Rename the 1.5 eboot to 150.PBP and the 3.51 Eboot to 351.PBP or take the 3.52 Eboot and rename it 352.PBP
3. Connect your PSP to your computer and activate USB MODE
4. Find it in My Computer or on your desktop.
5. Navigate to X:/PSP/ (where X:/ is your drive so E:/ or D;/)
6. Now Choose The Set Of Instructions you Need, From 1.5 ot from an OE or SE custom Firmware



Updating to 3.51/3.52 M33 from 1.50
1. Navigate to X:/PSP/GAME/ and place the kxploitpatcher and kxploitpatcher% from teh 1.5 only folder(in the m33rel folder) in here.

2. Also Place the M33CREATOR inside PSP/GAME, then move the 150.PBP and 351.PBP/3.52.PBP into PSP/GAME/M33CREATOR

3. Exit USB mode, and start the kxploitpatcher.

4. After that program has exited start the M33CREATOR.

Sort of a newbie here, i have a fatboy psp with 2.71 TA-82 downgraded to 1.5

is it safe to do this with a ta82 board and also would i follow the part 1 of your instructions or part 2

yes its safe, adn you would need to follow part1 or the part for upgrading from 1.50 to 315/2 M33

i was just about to attempt this then relized that i am 1.5 but if i hard reset my psp i go back to 2.71

is this going to cause any problems if i switch to 3.51

Hi

I got some problem with the upgrade from 3.40OEA to 3.51 M33. Bascially, I done everything correct but my screen doesn't show "do you want to upgrade to 3.51 M33" it just gone black(like brick but not it not) I have to take out my Memory card and restart my psp and it fine. I place the files in correct order. How can I upgrade? Please help!

redownloadthe M33 creator pack and use that.

make sure you have no plugins enabled

and if you have a custom theme you may wish to remove it

hey guys, i downgraded from 3.50 to 1.50 and i didn't read up on anything after, i loaded "devhook" version 0.52 and the psar dumper did something to the psp...i've followed the instructions until i have to load the 3.51 m33 fw creator and i get this
loading 1.50 firmware...ok
writing 1.50 firmware...ok
loading 3.51 firmware.... SHA1 of 1.50 psar doesn't match expected
press x to exit......can anyone help... i dunno what the hell to do

I must be a total n00b here but i have this problem withe the M33CREATOR, it loads the1.50 firmware, then writes 1.50 firmware, then it loads the 3.52 firmware, no problem, but then it starts writing the 3.52 firmware, wich never completes. (it isnt supposed to take an hour is it) There is MS activity the whole time, it just keeps going and going...
I downloaded all the files from the links right here. I have a 1.50 PSP and have run the kxploitpatcher...

FTW could be wrong? bad MS? It is an original Sony 512MB stick that came with the PSP (secondhand that is). I formatted it before usage.
Please help...

BTW: so after an hour i removed the ms and this error message came up:

Yea well I can use it playing games from it not a problem, it's a bit slower when writing to it then the new one but no problems whatsoever, and i've completely filled it.
I'm just thankful this shit happened using M33CREATOR and not with M33UPDATER, while flashing.

Ok, so I'm a little confused when it comes to this. Here's my current setup: I have one of the original PSPs (1.50 fw) that has been upgraded to the 3.10 OE-A fw. I want to upgrade to the most recent custom fw but I'm not quite sure which method to follow. I read the tutorials above and i'm still a little sketchy.

There's two obvious choices, the 3.51 or 3.71 both the M33 fws. Here's the thing, I also have custom emulators that I run under the 1.50 to play old NES, SNES, Genesis, etc games.

Help? What should I do and which custom fw should I use given the current settings?

Emus and Homebrew still work on custom firmwares....you must upgrade to 352m33 if you want to go to 371m33. Its really up to you. Both work well, and 99% of homebrew works without a glitch

Well, if you upgrade 1.5 goes away :P
but on a custom firmware you can play all 1.5 homebrew, all 1.0 homebrew play ISO/CSO PSX games and more. There arent really any cons

No you dont need to go to 1.5.

and since you are one a custom firmware, I would just make a pandoras battery and Ms and udpate to 3.71 M33 using that

OK...so I know this thread hasnt been posted on for a VEEERRRYYY long time but im kinda hopin someone will reply. Im ONE STEP AWAY from updating my fat psp with original 1.5 firmware to the latest official Sony firmware!!! Here goes...

Ive been off the PSP for a wee while and still had devhook which i now learn is ANCIENT! Im trying to upgrade to 352 M33 (or be it any version of M33...i hear M33 is the best choice now??!). Ive formatted my card to start from scratch, copied kxploit thing, M33 CREATOR, ran both and then gone to run the blue icon M33 UPDATER...here lies the problem...

First message fine, then..."Checking PSAR integrity...incorrect PSAR" ....psp reboots!
