PlayStation president and CEO Andrew House has said the company is "more committed to new IP establishment and delivery" than other platform holders.
Following the arrival of the PlayStation 4 in November, House has said development of new IP for the console is "critically important".

"And I do think that the early consumer is going to buy in if they sense that there is a roadmap of great content that is going to come down the pipe," added House, before stressing that the new IP delivery in 2014 is "critically important".
"We are more committed to new IP establishment and delivery than most other platform holders out there," he said.
Sony's major new IP currently announced for PS4 is The Order 1886 (http://www.computerandvideogames.com/440932/the-order-1886-targeting-fall-2014-release-date/), a game set in an alternate history that mixes Victorian-era London with relatively modern technologies and mythological monsters, in development at God of War PSP studio Ready at Dawn.
