Sony Computer Entertainment CEO Andrew House says PlayStation Plus has provided a new audience to indie developers struggling with discoverability in the mobile space.
"With PlayStation Plus, we've almost stumbled upon a great way to connect independent games developers with an audience," PlayStation boss House told CVG contributor Steve Boxer.

"One is an opportunity to stretch their legs creatively, with differentiated interfaces and a big-screen experience. And the second thing is to connect them with an audience."
The headline feature of PS Plus is Instant Game Collection. It offers subscribers a rolling selection of PS4, PS3 and Vita games which remain accessible for as long as they are paying members.
House said: "Via PlayStation Plus, the Instant Game Collection experience has taken off, because people have that joy of discovering those new, quirky experiences that maybe they wouldn't have come across. That's a very strong area of emphasis for us."
Sony used the PS4 (http://www.computerandvideogames.com/playstation-4/games/12249/playstation-4/) launch in November to make a number of significant changes (http://www.computerandvideogames.com/415602/video-details-playstation-plus-features-on-ps4/) to PS Plus.
PS4 owners are required to subscribe to PS Plus (http://www.computerandvideogames.com/412527/ps4-multiplayer-requires-ps-plus-subscription/) in order to play online multiplayer, which isn't the case on PS3 or Vita.
The thinking behind the decision to charge customers for online multiplayer on PS4 was explained to us by Sony Worldwide Studios president Shuhei Yoshida in June (http://www.computerandvideogames.com/413823/sony-ps4-multiplayer-fee-will-fund-improvements/).
