Nintendo announced that Yoshi's New Island (http://www.joystiq.com/game/yoshis-new-island) will launch in spring 2014 for 3DS during today's Nintendo Direct (http://www.joystiq.com/2013/12/18/watch-the-last-nintendo-direct-of-2013-probably-right-here/) livestream. What's more, the series' original creator Takashi Tezuka is working on the project. Yoshi's New Island was first announced in June (http://www.joystiq.com/2013/06/11/new-yoshis-island-game-called-yoshis-new-island/) and was originally expected to launch this holiday season.
Nintendo President Satoru Iwata also announced a new Wii U action game known as Hyrule Warriors (http://www.joystiq.com/2013/12/18/hyrule-warriors-3d-action-game-announced-for-wii-u/) during the stream.
