Here is the thing we have all been waiting for (If like me you managed to brick a Slim, lol)

Hot off the press from m33/ D_A is the multi unbricker

Id like to take this oppourtunity to say thank you for all the hard work many people have put into this and for Mr Tutu Alek and Jas0nuk who have done the translation's, the one below is from Jas0nuk :)

Mike..

Installation:

- Skip this part if you already have a Pandora memory stick.
If not, format an MS using Pandora/C+D mspformat or any other tool
that allows the movement of the partition ~250kb from the first sector

- Cancel USB connection and remove the memory stick. Then re-insert
the memory stick and restart the USB connection.

- Make the PSP and PSP/GAME/ directories

- Copy "despertar_cementerio" to PSP/GAME/

- Download official updates 1.50, 3.40 and 3.71, and copy them to the memory stick root, renamed to 150.PBP, 340.PBP and 371.PBP

- Run the app under the 3.XX kernel (under a custom firmware, make sure the GAME folder is set to 3.XX kernel)

- Once finished, you'll be left with msipl.bin on the memory stick root.

- Skip this part if you already have a Pandora memory stick.
If not, use C+D msinst to install ipl on ms, or use the dd command in unix, or any
hex editor to write msipl.bin to sector 16 on the physical drive.

- Now you can delete 340.PBP and 150.PBP
371.PBP will be used for unbricking, so don't delete it.

- Now you have an universal Pandora memory stick ready to go, and you just need a proper battery.
If you have 1.50 kernel access, use the C+D tool. Otherwise, use cory1492's tool.
EITHER TOOL SHOULD ONLY BE USED ON FAT BATTERIES, AS THEY WILL CAUSE PERMANENT DAMAGE TO SLIM&LITE BATTERIES.

- The service mode fat battery and memory stick will work on any PSP to date.

Unbricking:

(Note that you won't see the unbricking menu on the slim, due to the different display drivers, so follow the below instructions carefully)

- Press X to install 3.71 M33. On the slim (blind installation), you will see the orange LED flashing,
which means that 371.PBP is being written. When finished, the orange and green LEDs will flash,
to show that it worked. Finally, the PSP will automatically switch off.

- On the fat, once finished, press X to shutdown.
Power on manually, press O at the Blue Screen of Death, and you will be on 3.71 M33

- Press O to install original 3.71 (rest of the process is the same as the 3.71 M33 installation)

- Press [] to dump the NAND to ms0:/nand-dump.bin.
Make sure you have 33mb (fat)/66mb (slim) free on your memory stick to avoid corruption.
The PSP will shut down automatically when done.

- Press L+R+HOME+start to restore NAND from ms0:/nand-dump.bin
This process is very dangerous, and you should only use it as a last resort.
It is physical restore process (not a logical one), and will try to make
a 100% clone of the dump.
If you are working with a dump that isn't yours, you will get either a brick
or a corrupt idstorage, depending on the firmware.
If, your PSPs NAND has more damaged blocks than the dump being restored,
you may also end up with a brick.

Works for both PSP and PSP Slim.

Updated Version added with English Readme and Sony Bugfix

do I need the Pandora for the Phat of Slim (or it doesn't matter) If I want to unbrick my Slim?

do I need the Pandora for the Phat of Slim (or it doesn't matter) If I want to unbrick my Slim?

It will only work with a FAT battery, if you use youe slim battery you will break that as well :(

You need to have a pandora already to really get the most out of this, or at least be able to get access to someone who has a PSP that allows homebrew.

for all of those out there who bricked a Slim it is now possible to get it back to life thanks to the hard work of so many great people :)

How have so many people managed to brick their SLIM's?

Just curious...

Regardless though, this is more excellent work from the legend himself. I've never bricked a PSP (yet) but this is really appreciated nonetheless.

So, would you guys suggest bricking the new slim psp to unbrick and go straight to 3.71 m33? or is there a safer way, because this looks pretty straight forward. (and I have a 1001 psp, so the battery and ms isn't an issue)

You don't need to brick the slim to be able to install it to 3.71 M33 :) It will work whether the PSP is bricked or not.

Theres a bug in this version. Press O at BSoD bricks (ironic, isn't it, it corrupts flash1 or something)

version 2 fixes the issue

what about the 1.5 kernal support????? haha
but dude... this is awesome.

urherenow
September 28th, 2007, 23:57
WOW! With v2, this is *ALMOST* a perfect program. I say almost because for this to be a 100% universal Pandora/Unbricker there should be 1 more button press option to install firmware 1.50 (for psp 100x models only of course)

A Bonus on top of that would be the ability to run the Key cleaner program from it so people may attempt that before having to resort to restoring a NAND dump (possibly very dangerous)

So, does this mean, if i have psp slim with official 3.71, I can upgrade it to 3.71 m33?

i'm confused... why does he tell us to put the 1.5 and 3.40 firmware eboots in? i mean... what's the purpose... is this the 1.5 kernal support he promissed us?

Yep. ;)

First, this is not the 1.50 kernel support, he hasn't even started it, yet.

And second, no idea why we need 3.40 and 1.50 Eboots to run this. xD

if you have a psp slim like myself on 3.71 just pop it and hit x. thats it.

urherenow

talk about lack of perception...

this doesn't install the 1.5 kernel... ok *almost* everyone gets that.

Why do we need the 1.50 eboot?

Because the pandora program (the one that gets loaded with the battery/memory stick) uses the 1.5 kernel.

Why else do you think the screen doesn't work on a slim?

thank you, thank you... I know... I'm a genius :D

Glad it worked for ya mike. Now it's time for the NOOBZ to discover an exploit that will give full 1.0 kernal support. that would be awesome:thumbup:

Anyone here have experience with the Pandora process and that is willing to help me or maybe walk me through it? I've tried it three times using different guides and for some reason I can't get it to work. I know alot about the PSP and homebrew so I know what I'm doing but I'm not sure what the issue is with Pandora. I have my 4gb SanDisk Pro Duo and a couple batteries with my bricked 3.71 M33 and 3.52 M33 Working PSP, please someone HELP.

The 4gb Sandisk Ruby Red and quite possibly all the 4gb memory sticks (need further testing) are not compatable to be made into Magic Pandora Memory Sticks.

Download it here (http://nds.cmamod.com/wordpress/?dl=13) from my site (http://nds.cmamod.com/2007/09/28/os-pandora-battery-tool-for-3xx-v2/). Just remember, if I catch you playing with my tool...

kjetil1991: why didn't you backup your own files first? Chances are you won't be able to write them back on 3.71 so they will work anyway.

How do I run this app if I'm not on CFW??
I'm on official 3.71, so how can I make a Magic Mstick?

And will cory1492's tool work on PSP Slim's batteries?
