Hi
Terrific guide, everything seemed to go as the guide said.
Now can i use this on a friends slim psp to
downgrade it to 1.50 firmware,or will it upgrade it to 3.71m33?

Bobtentpeg
December 9th, 2007, 04:57
The PSP Slim is hardwired to not go below 3.60, you can only upgrade it to 371 M33

December 9th, 2007, 07:56
Firstly, I want to thank you guys for this great forum.

- Press X to install 3.71M33. On slim (blind installation), you will see orange led flashing, that means that 371.PBP is being written. When finished, orange and green leds will be flashing, done artificially by the program to know that it's working. On fat, once finished, you will have to press X to shutdown. Restart manually,

I couldn't get this part
I have Slim-PSP

After installing finishes, orange and green leds will flash.

Then what should I do ?
Power off ?
Press any button ?

BTW 371.PBP mentioned above is M33 right ?
or this is for OFW recovery only ?

thank you & have fun
Mehmet Can

Bobtentpeg
December 9th, 2007, 16:06
the 371.PBP is used for both.
For you, once your lights have stopped flashing yiru PSP should turn off automatically, if it doesnt, give it 10 mins then turn it off and restart it

Thank you.
now I got it.

I hope I will be able to homebrew enable my PSP-Slim.
I almost got every required information.
But this time, I'm lack of equipment.
Pandora Battery, Pandora MS or CFW PSP owner friend.

only these questions left in my mind.

2 Questions:

1. Can I follow this guide and install cementary v3 instead of v1 with no side effects?
2.Does dumping or restoring nand dangerous to do? I want to have a backup but not if dumping it could brick my psp.

Bobtentpeg
December 15th, 2007, 15:26
1. This guide uses v3. Sorr if there was cunfusion, I named it incorrectly when i uploaded it.
2. Dumping it isnt dangerous at all, only resotre it if you know what your doing and know you have an uncorupted NAND backup

Bobtentpeg
February 11th, 2008, 22:50
most likely missing the eboot or using a fake MS

grishnakgorbag
February 11th, 2008, 23:07
fake as in not sony cos ms is a sandisk ?or do you mean something entirely different & i'm showing my ignorance ?

Im at the point where you should run Despertar del Cementerio and it says "The game could not be started. (80020001)"

What to do?

I am trying to create the items on a 1.50 PSPfat. How do I access the recovery mode and how do I change the kernel of the GAME-folder?

Bobtentpeg
March 1st, 2008, 04:52
On 1.5 there is no recovery.

and are we sure we;re on 1.5?
if so, how did you get there

ThaSlayer
March 1st, 2008, 10:43
The fat 1.5 PSP is my friends but I don't know if he bougth it like this or installed the 2.50 firmware there. All I know is that it has 1.50 and I am trying to make the pandora with it. I was told it would work in this tut. If only someone could tell me how exactly it does work because it says that error 80020001.

What am I supposed to do?

This may be a silly question but do I need to modify the memory stick to install the cfw to a PSPslim? And if I have to, are there any other ways to do this? Am I supposed to change the fatPSP's fw to a custom firmware? (I am usin the fat to make the stuff so I could install a ctf to my own PSPslim)

I have done everything so far right imho.

Please help me :)

Bobtentpeg
March 1st, 2008, 20:40
Interesting, well it should work just fine on 1.5.

Perhaps you should run keycleaner on his PSP, this might help.

Or you could always update his PSP to a customfirmware, as they beat the crap out of 1.5 anyways

grishnakgorbag
March 6th, 2008, 20:32
Well i have tried another sandisk ms with the same result, i guess i will have to purchase an official sony ms from a high street trader or something like that so i know its real.... will this sort my prob ?

grishnakgorbag
March 6th, 2008, 20:34
Actually come to think of it my sandisk ms was purchased in store with psp

grishnakgorbag
March 7th, 2008, 19:20
on pressing o to back up nand, i get bad file message

Bobtentpeg
March 8th, 2008, 05:00
You dont have the space on your MS or the way its been formated/manufactured there is a bad sectoe preventing copying

grishnakgorbag
March 8th, 2008, 10:31
It can only be a bad sector preventing copying cos ms is 512 pro duo, has been formatted as per tutorial, manufacture must be ok cos we have used three different ms but still getting same outcome grrrrrrr.

Thanx for your continued replies please help me sort this cos i aint giving up.

Bobtentpeg
March 28th, 2008, 11:53
NO, you need to have a homebrew compatible PSP con hand unless you lare3yad have the battery in which case your buddy can make you the files to write

Should have really posted it here:

Okay, I've finally gotten around to creating a Pandora, thanks to this tutorial (http://www.dcemu.co.uk/vbulletin/showthread.php?t=75654). I've created one mainly for going back to 1.5 (and then onto my CF of choice) incase I don't like the firmware I update to, and for unbricking - just incase. My question is, I've completed the Making the Pandoras Battery and Magic Memory stick part, do I need to go on and complete the Modifying the Memory Stick Files to Work as an Unbricker step ? If I left it, what could it do currently ? If I modified it to work as an unbricker, then what can it do ? As in, if I done the unbricker step, would I be adding to it's features, or am I replacing them so it's now just an unbricker ? Hope you get what I'm on about...

Lastly, would my Pandora & Magic Memory stick work on someone else's PSP ? Thanks.

Bobtentpeg

Its like my new slim PSP of 4 days old is bricked.I tried making a PAndora batt. And i installed the Total newbie intaller on my 1GB mem stick but when i turned it on i went to the mem stick menu n it prompted to install it to 3.71 firmware from a 3.73 .
To cut things short when i switched it on it worked twice.
O n switching it on the thrid time;only the green light shows.
I tested it wit another battery.
Still giving thesame result.
I tried using auto recovery(press the R button and power for 8 seconds)No difference yet
Ithe green light switches off after some seconds
Can somebody suggest a remedy cos i have even barely enjoyed it.
Thanks

Hi,
Thanks for the guide, I have followed the steps up to the part where you format the memory stick (yeah, not very far indeed). When I try to format it, it says "open error <read>".
As for relevant details (?), I run windows Vista & I have the PSP connected to my PC via USB. Would using a MS reader change anything ? Is this one of these obnoxious Windows quirks ? If it is, how can I get around it ?
Thanks for any help you can provide,

Loic

Bobtentpeg
April 8th, 2008, 13:18
It snot a windows quirk, its a Vista being bloatware quirk

I have a psp1001 with 5.00M33-6. I am trying to make another magic memory stick because my last one broke. I followed all the instructions up to opening Pandora's Battery Creator and Pandora's Battery Firm, Installer but my psp won't open either one. It won't open with either my regular or pandora battery.

What should I do?
