SuccessHK (http://www.superufo.com/product_html/Playstation_3_PS3_Console_80GB_HK_Version.html?aff _id=24) has today dropped the price of the new 80GB Playstation 3 down to USD 519.35 (£254)

A saving of £146/$260 for those of us in the UK. The UK is still stuck with the 60GB versions at the moment.

All PS3 Games are worldwide Region Free as are most Blueray Films. Buying a HK PS3 will lose PS2/Ps1 compatability but for the price it may be worth it..

SuccessHK do ship worldwide so good news for importers, but make sure you ship airmail and ask for the box to be marked as sample ;)

Yeah hes wrong in the fact that there is actually NONE for this 80gb version. Still worth the money though, im seriously considering this.

can't the PS3 just emulate the compatibility something like the way the PSP is able to play PS1 games , shouldn't be too hard for Sony right ?

Is that 254 including P&P?

That sounds like a really intelligent answer, apart from the fact that have not grasped that if you import a PS3 from another region you cannot play any of your own regions PS1/PS2 games, which is what everyone is talking about apart from you, thus there being 0% BC.

Since we are playing the 'wrong' game and you are talking about nothing to do with the imported PS3 your indefinitely wrong on the subject.

Well done.... Just because they ship worldwide doesnt mean that whereever the ps3 goes it magically changes its region coding to where it is.

This is an ASIAN ps3, HK version. From Hong Kong. How is that even PAL?

Well I have a Xbox360 its great, would I part with it for a PS3?...... no but if the Blueray battle wins then I may think again only if the price of a PS3 in the UK gets a price cut loads, to around £200 and that will be in a very long time indeed. Maybe when its that cheap a Xbox460 could be around the corner.
