Hi All,

Here is a new version of PSPX48, the HP48 calculator emulator for PSP.

What's new in this version 1.1.0 ?

- Now compatible with custom firmwares 3.x and PSP-slim
- Bug fix and code cleaning
- New help menu

The HP48 documentation is there :
http://www.hpcalc.org/hp48/docs/misc/hp48gug.zip

It has been developed on linux for Firmware 1.5 and 3.03-OE.
It's distributed under GNU licence and sources are included.

You can download it on my blog : http://zx81.zx81.free.fr/

Enjoy,

Zx.

Hi, zx-81...
Trying your last release I noticed a swap in the signing functions of the follwing keys:
KEY............README......performing
Circle..........Up...............Alpha
Square........Down...........Valid Key
Triangle.......Left.............Backspace
Cross..........Right............ENTER
Right...........Alpha...........Right
Up..............Valid Key......Up
Down..........ENTER..........Down
Left.............Backspace....Left
L1...............Shift R..........Shift L
R1..............Shift L...........Shift R
...and no change in the assignments of the other keys:
Analog: Move Cursor on keyboard
Start: ON
Select: Next (usefull for menus)
Press Start + L + R: to exit and return to eloader.
Press Start + L: to display help
Press Select + L: to enter in the emulator menu

...then I remembered that about 1 year ago when I posted in another thread:
'...as a fan of PSP and hpRPN logic I'm wondering...
Is it possible to invert de hp48 backpic modifying the handle and allowing the ordinary/ natural use of the left and right hands in psp:
1...to control w/ left hand, the analog/arrows (thumb) and L trigger (forefinger or other)
and w/ right hand, the circle/cross/square/triangle/select/start (thumb) and R trigger (forefinger or other)
2...and mnemonics correlation between psp-hp48.
arrows(u/d/l/r)...arrows
triggers(L/R)...shifts(L/R)
circle...valid key on cursor [analog is round!]
cross...alpha [X, most used letter in math!]
square...ENTER [the singular hp calc key!]
triangle...backspace
analog/select/start...the same

It's just a suggestion...
or a user's option, like a skin of TI92 (another great release of you!!!: my 1st calc was a TI)
In fact, these above ideas I got from a mix of your TI92emu handling and your 1st hp48emu release...'

Well, I'm wondering now if you could allow a [B]self-customization of those keys and HP48 backpic position/ handle...
Maybe I'm asking too much for you, but unfortunately I know almost nothing about hex-editing[I only use BASIC/FORTRAN when programming in university]...

I appreciate all of your work for the PSPscene, specially this one...
...and if I'm not wrong, your first port/emu to PSP was this pspx48, wasn't it?
Thanks...

thanks for your feedback, i can add a new menu for the keyboard mapping (such as most of all my emu ports).

Thanks again for your comment

Wow, thank you...:D
It'll have the option to rotate 180 degrees the backpic in order to handle the 'calculator' in a different way? This feature would be awesome...;)
I just can't wait for this release...

Hi zx-81,

What a nice emulator! That's exactly what I would like... for my nintendo ds lite...

There are already a TI-83+ and a TI-85 emulator available on the DS, but I would really like to have the HP48G(X), it was my calculator when I was at uni and I miss the reverse polish way of making my calcs ;)

Is there any chance you can adapt this emulator to run on the DS as well ? I saw on your blog that a emulator section exist for the NDS but nothing in..

Cheers, and well done for the emulator on PSP

I bought a DS for dev, and i was about to port HP48 emu to DS. But when i've seen that most of DS coders don't respect open source licences, don't provide source code with their homebrew (even if it's based on GNU stuff) i didn't feel at home with this scene, so i gave up ... :(:(:(:(
