Over $1bn worth of sales in December alone to make it the most successful month EVER.
Fresh from its announcement that Beyonce's album was the fastest-selling to ever hit iTunes (http://www.mobile-ent.biz/entertainment/music/beyonce-s-beyonce-is-fastest-selling-album-to-ever-hit-itunes/042534), Apple has revealed its devout customers spent over $10 billion on the App Store in 2013.
Sales passed $1 billion in December alone as users downloaded more than three billion apps to make it the most successful month in the history of the App Store.
The phenomenal figures mean developers have now earned $15 billion on the iOS marketplace, with Candy Crush and Puzzle & Dragons recognised as success stories.
Eddy Cue, Apple’s SVP of Internet Software and Services, said: "We’d like to thank our customers for making 2013 the best year ever for the App Store. The lineup of apps for the holiday season was astonishing and we look forward to seeing what developers create in 2014."
