Is it possible for jagged alliance 2 gold to be ported to the psp? This would be an amazing feat if it were to happen.

And yes the source code for this game is available.

Are you sure? This link implies differently:

"When Jagged Alliance 2: Wildfire was released, the complete source code for the original game was included on the CD-ROM"

Trust me the source code was released by the devs themselves.

As long as you own jagged alliance wildfire, you have complete access to the source code. If is interested in porting this game to the psp and they don't have wildfire, feel free to pm me (Or just post here) and I can send it to you.

It's only Jagged Alliance 1 which has source.

Jagged alliance 1 AND 2 have the source code released. Just look at the link SSaxdude gave. Here's another link as well, of a community site dealing with JA2 source code.

You will have to ask the authors for permission as this line of the license doesn't sit right with me:

Commercial purposes include, but are not limited to, running a business, licensing, renting, or selling the Software, distributing the Software for use with any commercial products
Since the PSP is technically a commercial product, this may break the license. However, I am not 100% sure if the 'product' refers to hardware, software or both.

Considering that people are currently porting JA2 to linux, I don't think porting it to the psp will be a problem.

Linux is not hardware based.. Its software based.

The PSPSDK is also not hardware based, it is also software based. And it is not a commercial product by their definition.

So as long as you're not selling dedicated hardware for it to run on, but just distributing software to run on "commercially made hardware", it think it is well with-in the license bounds.
