Hi!

I've installed MapThis on my PSP with FW 3.52-M33-2. The problem that I have is that I cannot connect to any satellite: after I'm starting MapThis, I've selected the map that I need, I've pressed square button and I have waited more than 10 minutes. Every time when I press the "Start" button and I select "GPS Info" I get there GPS STATE: OFF.
I forgot to say that I'm using PSP-290.

Thank you

Maybe is usefull to say that I have extracted usbacc.prx and usbgps.prx starting my PSP in recovery mode and using option "Toggle USB (flash0)".

Did you try to turn the GPS on by pressing the Square button :)

Yes, I've done it.

Then it should work, try downloading the 3.71 PRX from that thread here and follow my guides again.

Do you mean only the prx files or to install 3.71 FW?

Another thing is that I did not specified before: I have a TA-082 PSP. Is there any problem because of this?

I will try again because till now I have tried with mapViewer v0.5.

Thanks a lot for your actual and future answers.

I've tried with 3.71 prx and the program (MapThis) is starting and is trying to load the files but is just going out.
I have also tried PSP290 Test program with 3.52, 3.40 and 3.10 prx files, but I cannot get any satellite.

Since it says that gps state is off, I believe you should check the following:
Firstly, ensure you are using the mapviewer files from the PSP-290 version. This version should produce a blue screen with various confirmations when the program starts.
Second, when viewing a map, press start and make sure the first button of the 2nd row says read GPS from file. If not, press it once to turn on gps.

I wish you luck!!!!

Thanks for the answer but I am sure that I'm using the PSP290 files. More than this, how I already said before, I have tried with PSP-290 Test program, that one that has a green screen and I still don't get any satellite. I have tried with different versions of prx files. Still nothing.
Can somebody tell me if PSP290 is working on TA-082 PSP? Do I have to make some special settings to make it work on TA-082?

Thanks in advance.

Oh yeah, GO OUTSIDE ;)
It takes about 2-5 minutes to get a lock if you get some signals and the conditions is good ;)

Take a walk :)
Enable Trackup mode "Ringht cross", And turn GPS on by pressing Square, turn off W-Lan :)

Can be something wrong with my PSP-290? I'm asking this because I get always that "GPS STATE: OFF" or in PSP-290 Test program GPS-State=0.

Could be or your PSP, try the 290 on another FAT PSP running 3.52 M33-4 perhaps ;)

Can you please tell me where can I find some guides about how to make a FAT PSP? Maybe this is why my 290 is not working.

A fat PSP is simply how the old version is now called, to make easier the distinction between the old one and the new slim & lite version. (I.e., they differ physically, you can't make a fat PSP.)

It's the same thing as with the first PS2 (fat version) and then later the smaller model (slim version).

The only reasons so far I've seen for a PSP-290 _not_ working are:

PSP-290 itself is defect or improperly connected, you could try using it on another PSP (a fat version preferably, as PDG mentioned);
You're using wrong PRX files (you could try my version from http://www.dcemu.co.uk/vbulletin/showthread.php?t=54109&page=37#368, which doesn't require PRX files);
You're using a _very_ old version of MapThis, try 0.5+;
Your PSP keys are messed up because of some old downgrader, then try Chilly Willy's Keycleaner from http://tinyurl.com/2xwta8.
