Jake, I've had problems opening the _pumpstation POI in
mapthis.. doesnt seems to open up...
Also, Specialist83 i've d/led ur _SpeedCameras and it doesn't have .txt for me to remove so i just do/l it into my mapthis and surprisingly it works with the .txt extension.. I tried using the method by saving the pumpstation as txt file and open but it still don't work.. pls advise :(

Hi,

Can someone advise me where can I download the geodata for Singapore Map?

I am able to get the GPS to detect where I am but I am not able to tell the GPS where I am going.
What did I miss out? have done the following but error message GEODATA file error,

1) Download and installed MapThis - ok
2) Download Singapore Map from Global Map Download using GMDL.
:(

Saint77, Singapore still i'm unable to get the geodata from google. maybe you want to try http://nieko.net/tools/getroute.php to get your route fixed up before your trip.

Search the forum for GMDL to start download your own Maps.

Geodata contains almost every single thing starting from street names.
Custom GEODATA.
Get your data into a CSV with the following format (with column names by default, or you can uncheck that in GMDL):

Mandatory (this is so you can convert the same CSV into a POI file):

lon,lat,name
Optional (extra columns, after city, are ignored for POI conversion):

lon,lat,name,city (description),min number,max number

Note: city (description) is what the geodata file will be segmented by (it should be a geographical area, it is fine being the same for all rows if you have a reasonably small set), if it's not specified rounded lat/lon will be used

Note: If your CSV is delimited by ; instead of , (eg. if the decimal point is a decimal coma, like in French, German, Russian, etc.) check the CSV is delimited by ;... checkbox

For example (the NZ txt extract), open Excel, open the txt, leave the import on Delimited, with Tab, and Finish, select all cells except the header row, and sort AtoZ (this eliminates the empty rows). Re-arrange the columns as follows: LONG, LAT, FULL_NAME and delete the others. Save-as a csv (Yes to keeping in the CSV format).

Open GMDL, click GeoData, select the Custom (CSV) tab, set the file and click process, place the resulting geodata.dat into your map directory.

The idea about http://getroute.nieko.net/ is that you can input the same text as you would using http://maps.google.com/. If your browser downloads the file for you, then a route has been found.

By default, some browsers add ".htm" at the end of the file, ending up with e.g. "_ROUTE_HOME.htm". Just remove the ".htm" part :).

You can then place it in ms0:/PSP/COMMON/ or in a folder where you have stored your map and load it in MapThis through POI Lookup.

do you mean geodata? we tried that, but it seems that the custom geodata convertor in gmdl isn't working well with sg data file.

well joyce i think most of the problem come with singnet, if you are useing a starhub, this may be easy to use but most singnet is hard,i had a same problem with you but i did edit my singnet setting from the IP *192.168.1.1* and after that if may work but mosty IT IS not Recommended to edit your setting unless you wan to try your risk

this is the step you may want to try

1.Call your ISP and ask them for help

2.Try editing your setting inside *NOT Recommended*

3.find someone who can upload the map for you

i try to upload the map for you but take some time,if you may need now ,you may try to add me by msn([email protected])Or wait for the uploading to done =]]

Good Luck

Hi,

I downloaded the _pumpstations yesterday and uploaded it to my PSP. It does show in the map as green icon. How do I make the icon set to the proper pumpstation icon in the mapViewer\system\icons

And if anyone can also answer my question on this. How do I get MapThis to tell me how to go to Point A to Point B without using GMDL or the neiko.net/tools/getroute.php ?

What is the Set Marker for?

Thanks...

Nieko
March 4th, 2008, 08:14
You can't, thats exactly what GMDL and http://getroute.nieko.net are for :).

The marker is mainly for seeing distances from point A to point B (and C, D, etc. by pressing Circle).
