Valkyrie Profile 2 don't work with Mod Ps2

I have PS 2 with Crystal chip.If I play VP2 in the first battle the game crashes.Ever and ever.The US version and with the Pal also.Something I can do?

Try unplugging the DualShock and using an old non-analog PSX controller just until you get past that first bit.

Sounds odd, but it works. As a matter of fact, I didn't have a regular controller around when I did this, so I used a DDR Dance Mat to get into the game. ^^;
