StrmnNrmn (http://strmnnrmn.blogspot.com/2007/11/firmware-poll.html) posted this on his site:

I'm interested in which firmware everyone is running on. It would be very helpful if you could reply to this post with a) which model of PSP you're using ('fat'/slim, revision # if known) and b) which firmware you're using.

I have two PSPs. I have an original Japanese PSP with v1.00 firmware which I use for development, and a UK PSP which usually runs the latest official firmware (v3.72 at the moment.)

I'm interested because I want to know if anyone still requires the v1.50 (kxploit) versions of Daedalus that I release. I also need to figure out if it's worth my time getting a slim PSP for developing with the v3.xx+ firmware.

Thanks!
-StrmnNrmn

I do wish i had never updated my v1.0 PSP :(

i dont really use kxploit anymore, i use the 1.00 one which can run on custom firmware as well, so i dunno because the 1.50 firmware people are numbering

i would say port to 3.xx kernel for slim users. i current uses the latest cfw, 3.71 m33-3. i also use the 1.0 kernel build of daedalus.

lol....

i still run 1.5 POC-2, though it really does seem like the 1.5 people are numbering lately -_-

however, even if your a 1.5 person, POC-2 enables 1.0 eboot's as well as recovery type menu. so there is really no excuse not to be able to run 1.0 eboots on any firmware....lol

Thanks for Everything,

3.71 M33-3 Slim here, and so you know. 3.71 M33-3 Phat has 1.00 kernel + 1.50 Kernel + 3.71 Kernel. You would leave nobody out because anyone to stay at 1.50 is missing out.. 1.50 is old news and is obsolete.

1.5

If its a hassle to support it as well as the custom firmwares then I'll update if it goes custom firmware only.
To this point in time I've had no real need to.

Guy's i think he wants us to post this in the comments section after his blog post. At least for feedback last time that's what he said. I don't think he's got time to go web crawling all over the homebrew sites for answers. Well if he does read this, 3.71 M33-3. I got pissed when i was on 1.50 and everyone was playing ps1 games so i had to upgrade.

I have a fat AND slim. dunno what's on the phat (prob 3.71 m33-2 with 1.50 patch v2)

My slim has 3.71 m33-3.

Two MAJOR comments here first one for users and second for everyone, including strmnnrmn

1) there is a big difference between 1.5 kernel mode and 3.xx kernel mode. 1 eboot cannot run on both at the same time (many nids have changed)

2) Even though there are differences... there has been no reason whatsoever to use kxploit for a long time now! The permanent kxploit patcher works just fine to allow single eboots to run on 1.5 phats.

PLEASE KEEP MAKING DAEDALUS FOR 1.50!!! I still use the orignal version 1.50. I am probably never going to use custom firmware. And I am sure there are many other people just like me who want you to keep making it available for version 1.50 psps.

Thanks,

Paul.

LOL.. way to lie to your own face. If that were true, wouldn't you have 3.71 m33-3?

3.52M33---I think it runs 1.00, not 1.50!

uhhh... nope! All CFWs use 1.5 kernel, not 1.0 (but you may have done the kxploit patch allowing you to use single eboots in 1.5 kernel mode)

1.5

To this point in time I've had no real need to.

Then I guess you don't play any new games on it, or play full resolution vidios, or play psone games, huh? Why did you buy a PSP?

No, you don't need to do that. Custom Firmwares can load 1.00 EBOOT's aswell :)

Some people (myself included) bought the PSP purely for homebrew :)

I realise that Strmn may never see this, but I tried posting on his blog but didn't feel like registering just to post....

If all you're concerned about is making a kxploit release for 1.50 users (like myself), then you should just go ahead and stop releasing kxploited versions. Those of us who are still running 1.50 know what we're doing and aren't above manually kxploiting EBOOTs when the need occurs. On top of that, we have the nokxploit patcher that patches the PSP firmware in ram to allow us the ability to run native 1.00 formatted EBOOTs as much as we want until the power is shut off.

As long as the emu runs on 1.00, it'll run on 1.50. Let 1.50 users worry about properly formatting the EBOOT. (No need to release seperate versions or release a bloated package just to cater to us)
