I've been trying to learn this song for about 2 days now and have only figured out about 36 seconds into it at full-speed.

bKtadARBiYY

As the are no tabs openly available, learning by ear would have usually been my means of learning this song.
But, learning from the video is better for this song due to it's complexity.

Mr.McKee composes some of the craziest acoustics song I've ever heard. (Except the intro to Crazy On You from Heart, of course)

Back to learning I guess...

EDIT:
It would really help if I owned a baritone guitar like his!

EDIT: (again)
One a side note, here is one of the most disturbing videos I've ever seen and still make me laugh...

...me, being an ex pot-head and all.

Presenting to you...

Who lives in a bong in a dormatory.
Distgusting and green and sticky is he.
If smoking the chronic is something you do.
Put your thumb on the carb and he's smoking with you (?)

Hey, that's some great acoustics played there in that video clip.

Beautiful. Post a vid of your 36 seconds.

Yeah, isn't he great?
I met him and he played a song called Drifting.

He's the reason I put my electric back in the closet and got the old acoustic out.

Beautiful. Post a vid of your 36 seconds.
Will do.
I'll look for the ol' web cam and probably post it sometime tonight.

Drifting is crazy! He makes it look so easy.

Video 9 (from the menu) if anyone wanted to watch.

I tried playing that song as well.

The problem is he plays bariton guitars with MUCH lower string actions.
Playing Drifting with my standard tuned guitar is like taking knifes to my fingertips with those slides.

I can only imagine.

Johnny Rash

This tuning is like the craziest I've ever seen.

His guitar is tuned B-E-A-D-F#-B.

What the hell!

The man has crazy talent. Probly sold his soul for it. He got a hell of a deal.

Johnny Rash

Yeah, you're probably right.

Him and this guy.

He's my other inspiration!
I had a thread about him with more videos HERE (http://www.dcemu.co.uk/vbulletin/showthread.php?t=77277).

I've seen him play before, the guy is good. He's got that flair in his style that is unmatched.

I bet he goes through strings like pimps through hoes.

Johnny Rash

No, he goes through guitars like pimps through hoes.

He beats those guitars up.

Flea, from the Red Hot Chili Peppers goes through strings.
He's a string terrorist with all that funk popping he does!

the_eternal_dark
November 12th, 2007, 23:11
Yeah, true.

The scary thing is, Flea still isn't the best at bass.

About a year ago, I'd have to punch you in your face through the internet for saying that.

But, now...I know he's not the best...

I still like his funk style and that crazy suit he wears!

Victor Wooten, to me, is also one of the best.

Victor is the best. You didn't know that last year?

Flea is craziness wearing a bass. He can play just about anything, and does it better than I could ever dream to.

Johnny Rash

Yeah, he is really good.

I should pick up my bass again.
It's been dormant for awhile.

Jamming is required.
But seeing as I just moved to LA.

...I don't know anyone to jam with...:(

If I am stationed in the state of CA, I'll try to bring my bass and jam when I have leave.

I wish I had this bass.

Yeah, that'd be awesome to jam with you.
How long have you been playing?

I don't have cash to throw away on splurging on an 11 string bass.
But I'm sure it'd be quite interesting to play

FLEA at work

Just improvision, mind you.
Props go to Chad Smith as well.
So kickass!

SInce 8th grade. I'm not all that great since I haven't played in over a year, getting very rusty.

Flea is pretty damn good, I just think Victor has out classed him, but not by much.

Johnny Rash
November 12th, 2007, 23:42
You need to un-rust yourself!

Bass is such a fun instrument just to jam with.
I love the funky sound!

November 12th, 2007, 23:45
Hell yeah, some things you just cant get out of a guitar like you can a bass.

Johnny Rash
November 12th, 2007, 23:56
Eh, I'm only in it for the chicks.

Nah, I have fun with guitar.
I really love music.

But if you play John Mayer and John Frusciante songs in front of chicks...:D

the_eternal_dark
November 12th, 2007, 23:59
True.

I love guitars/basses. Nothing better except maybe sex and waffles.

Johnny Rash
November 13th, 2007, 00:01
I agree.

Breakfast after sex is better than the sex itself.

the_eternal_dark
November 13th, 2007, 01:30
Breakfast then that nice angry after argument sex is even better than that.

I like the way you think, sir.
