Nice but its only good for those who live in japan or a collector that has to have everything :D

Hopefully they will bring one out for the European (uk) market at some point.

I thought that all US TV broadcasts were switching to ATSC, I know that some of my local stations already use the new ATSC standard.

(anyone know why it wouldn't work with those?)

Edit: From the WanSeg Web site's Q&A
Q. You can use even in the WanSeg In foreign country?
A. only Japan it can view. You cannot utilize with the foreign country.

I hope they'll make a DVB-T tv tuner too.

There won't be a U.S release, since the U.S. doesn't have a broadcast TV format similar to 1seg. Europe could possibly see a release though (I still doubt it though, cuz I doubt the market is there).

The market is there, as almost everybody in the EU has either already, or is in the process of changing to DVB-TV. As such, a TV receiver (especially one utilising the DVB-TV features) would go down rather well.

However, for some reason beyond me, no-one has bothered coming up with one yet. Both Sony and Nintendo have 1SEG tuners, yet neither have hitherto made any comments about a European/American version.

BTW, a mate of mine who spent a 2 years in Japan said that 1SEG kinda sucks as it is only decent when you are not really moving, which defeats at least in part the purpose of a portable telly.
