Japanese firm insists it has no problem with Vietnamese developer's smash mobile game.
Another day, another Flappy Bird story.
If you're one of the 50 million people to have downloaded Flappy Bird (http://www.mobile-ent.biz/games/flappy-bird-generates-50-000-ad-revenue-daily/042909), you'll have noticed the infernal green pipes the wretched winged animal gets killed by time and time again resemble the pipes featured in Nintendo's Mario franchise.
So naturally, when creator Dong Ngyuen controversially removed (http://www.mobile-ent.biz/games/flappy-bird-pulled-from-app-stores-as-creator-admits-he-hates-it/042932) the $50,000-a-day game (http://www.mobile-ent.biz/games/flappy-bird-generates-50-000-ad-revenue-daily/042909) from the App Store and Google Play, some people believed Nintendo had tackled the Vietnamese indie developer with a copyright lawsuit.
Turns out this isn't the case, as the Japanese gaming giant has issued an official statement regarding the accusations to WSJ (http://blogs.wsj.com/digits/2014/02/10/no-complaints-about-flappy-bird-nintendo-says/), saying: "While we usually do not comment on the rumours and speculations, we have already denied the speculation."
