Spike TV Announces 2007 'Video Game Awards' Winners

Winners were announced tonight for Spike TV's 5th annual "Video Game Awards," the preeminent celebration of achievement in the gaming world. Talent from across the entertainment world gathered at the Mandalay Bay Events Resort and Casino in Las Vegas to honor the year's accomplishments within the video game community. Hosted by Samuel L. Jackson, the 2007 "Video Game Awards" will premiere on Spike TV Sunday, December 9 (9:00-11:00 PM, ET/PT).

The night's most prestigious honors were bestowed upon 2K Games' BioShock, as it took home awards for Game of the Year, Best Xbox 360 Game and Best Original Score. Two of the industry's most anticipated releases, Microsoft Game Studios' Halo 3 and MTV Games' Rock Band, garnered two awards each. A full list of winners can be found below.

I bet they didn't even play Zelda for the Handheld category. They probably just saw a demo and lazily threw it on there since it's a Zelda game.

Seriously.. all of those other NDS games and PSP games and this won?

I'm not saying it couldn't happen, but I would tend to think they just chose Zelda because they thought the general casual-gaming public would agree without thinking twice.

I hate how biased these awards are. Its clear that these people love Microsoft. I then discount everything they say because MS lovers are teabaggers.

I totally agree with this awards. Probably the best awards I've ever seen. All the prizes are well given. Except the Hand-Held one, Zelda really didn't deserve it.

Bioshock dominates yet again! I'll say it again, the greatest shooter ever, and only on par with awesomeness with Mass Effect and God of War.

I still haven't played Mass Effect or Orange Box yet, they're coming soon to my hands! But I don't think they will be better than COD4 or BioShock.
