hi scene , i stumbled on this looking for something else.......it may help some people out there.

does anyone have any info on these ?........apparently it not a one for all Lens , it suits only some types of Dreamcasts............ how do we detect what we currently have in our DC's to check if its compatible with the (R-48) Lens Replacement ?

The Dreamcast that have their mainboard merged with the GDROM probably aren't R-48. There should be a obvious ribbon going from the front of GDROM drive to the Dreamcast's mainboard. There's a picture of what those drives look like somewhere around here...

hi fackue im pretty sure you need your previous GDrom Controller Board still working with its Ribbon Cable still attached then connect the new Laser Lens Replacement.

i found some info here at DCforums indicating the R-48 is a SAMSUNG lens.
