Blizzard has detailed Clans and Communities, two new social features it is adding to Diablo 3: Reaper of Souls.
Unveiled on Battle.net (http://us.battle.net/d3/en/blog/12891941), the new features will be included in patch 2.0.1 for Diablo 3, and are designed to provide players with "easy and practical tools for finding and communicating with like-minded individuals who share a passion for demon slaying, loot hunting, experience farming, as well as other interests".
Although the features are currently still in development, both are available for testing as part of Patch 2.0.1 PTR and the Reaper of Souls closed beta.

The feature is intended to be a way for players to communicate with numerous other friends at once, as well as organize play, and keep in touch.
Clans have a member limit of 120 players, are intended to be smaller, and joining is by invitation only. Although a player can send a request to join a clan, they aren't officially a member until they are invited or the request is accepted. You can also only be a member of one clan at a time.
The Clan window can be opened by clicking the "Communities" button located in the lower right-hand corner of the character selection screen, or by using the customizable hotkey (default Shift + O).
Communities, meanwhile, are where players can gather for any reason, ranging from because they play the same class, use the same fan sites, or live in the same area.
"They're all about fostering relationships between like-minded people, with a keen focus on socialization," Blizzard explains.
"Unlike Clans, Communities are intended to be much larger and more casual. They can be public or private, for example, and support a nearly unlimited number of members. In addition, while you can only join a single Clan, you can be a member of multiple different Communities at the same time."
Diablo 3 was first confirmed for PS4 (http://www.computerandvideogames.com/392483/diablo-3-confirmed-for-ps4-ps3/) in February 2013. In November 2013, Blizzard revealed Diablo 3: Ultimate Evil Edition (http://www.computerandvideogames.com/437443/diablo-3-ultimate-evil-edition-announced-for-ps4/) for PS4. The game will include Diablo 3 and upcoming expansion pack Reaper of Souls (http://www.computerandvideogames.com/pc/sim-strategy/13342/diablo-3-reaper-of-souls/).
Blizzard has yet to officially announce an Xbox One version of the game. A spokesperson has said: "One of our goals is to bring Diablo III to as many players as possible, but we don't have any other platform announcements to share at this time."
