Customers will be able to access the messaging service over the coming months.
Following the news that Nokia is launching the Nokia X platform, which enables Android developers to roll out their apps onto Lumia and Asha devices (http://mobile-ent.biz/devices/nokia/mwc-2014-nokia-embraces-android-devs-across-lumia-and-asha-phones/043042)– BlackBerry has announced the introduction of BBM onto Windows Phone and Nokia X.
Users will benefit from all the features other BBMers do on iOS, Android and BlackBerry including BBM chats, profile customisation, BBM groups, BBM voice, BBM channels plus more.
John Sims, president of global enterprise solutions at BlackBerry, commented: “BBM continues to grow in popularity as millions of people use our platform for chatting and connecting with friends or colleagues, and we are very excited that we will soon welcome Windows Phone and Nokia X users to the BBM community.”
The messaging app will be available fore free from the Windows Phone Store in the summer, and for Nokia X in the Nokia Store when the new platform launches.
