Ok, i was an idiot and upgraded, not knowing that this would keep me from emulation. How long until the 1.52 hack???

There won't be one...well highly doubtfull. What will more likely happen is that hackers will wait for 2.0 to come out and then just hack that...hopefully they will be able to do it in a few months but there's really no way of guessing.
