Fans can watch Disney, Pixel and Marvel movies anywhere.
Walt Disney Co is making moves to encourage its fans to buy digital movies with Disney Movies Anywhere, reports Reuters (http://www.reuters.com/article/2014/02/25/us-walt-disney-cloud-idUSBREA1O0US20140225?feedType=RSS&feedName=technologyNews).
The cloud-based movie service is available online and on mobile, for consumers to buy Disney, Pixar or Marvel movies and store them on the cloud, meaning they can be viewed anywhere.
400 titles are available through Apple’s iTunes store as well as the Disney Movies Anywhere website and app, and viewed on a laptop or desktop, iPhone, iPad and iPod Touch, as well as the Apple TV box.
Jamie Voris, chief technology officer at Disney Studios, said: “The beauty of this technology is that it enables us to work with iTunes and future provider partners to ensure movie lovers have streamlined access to all of their favourite Disney titles no matter what device they are on.”
Disney is currently in talks to offer this service outside of iTunes.
Distimo previously reported that Disney was the dominant company in the app stores. (http://www.mobile-ent.biz/apps/report-disney-and-sony-dominate-the-app-stores/042357)
