Registration will be available through EE, Phones 4U and Carphone Warehouse.
This was probably one of the most anticipated bits of news to emerge from MWC this – even compared to Samsung’s additions to its smartwatch range.
Fans of the Galaxy family have been eagerly awaiting the unveiling of the next flag ship device, and no sooner had the Galaxy S5 (http://m-ent.biz/MYfPFa) been mentioned it then immediately went on to breaking its first record, receiving more than 100,000 pre-registrations.
The schemes launched by EE, Phones 4U and Carphone Warehouse were put in place to prevent any chance of a shortage in devices compared to demand – however we are not sure if they expected this kind of manic reaction.
Those desperately wanting to get their hands on a device must remember though the pre-registration is not a pre-order, and is only used to gage consumer interest.
If this interest will convert into sales, then Samsung’s new device could be breaking even more records in the coming months.
Samsung was the most tweeted about brand at Mobile World Congress this year, with 41,519 mentions. (http://mobile-ent.biz/industry/mwc-2014-top-ten-brands-mentioned-in-the-477-268-tweets-sent-about-the-event/043084)
