View Full Version : Metal Gear Solid 4 Is Just About Done

Metal Gear Solid 4's nearly done. They promise! On his latest podcast, Kojima Productions' Ryan Payton has told listeners the game's in its "last push". While a few late features or tweaks can be expected, for most of the team work's winding up, and the project is about to enter the bug-testing stage.

PAL users will also be interested to know Payton re-iterates the fact the game will be seeing a simultaneous worldwide release.

I'm glad that it is a world-wide release. I'd go mad if it wasn't, I can't wait for MGS4. :)

There isn't gonna be one. Konami has already stated that there IS NOT going to be a 360 version!!!
MGS4 is, and I quote directly from Kojima, "built on the PS3 hardware".

But if this game is not a success inmediately after the release, I'm sure Konami will be thinking about a 360 port.

it might happen, but no remake/port of any MG game has ever been as good as the original, and has always been damaged by the process.

Thats about as likely as Gears of War going to PS3, or Mass Effect, or Bioshock...point is, its not gonna happen.

Would they? Considering the game was made on and for the PS3 without multiplatform in mind, they'd have spend nearly the same amount on developing for the 360. And they'd have cut features, make it multi disc (5 discs? since Kojima said it requires a 50gb Blu-ray) or devise a compression scheme that works (maybe brings it down to 3 or 4 discs rather than 5) and have maybe the same result (poor sales) on the 360 yet now have DOUBLE the cost to recoup?

I doubt it will happen. If this game doesn't sell 1 million copies in its first week, being multiplatform won't help it any.

actually its already been predicted that gears of war 3, thats right you read me right, gears of war 3 has already been predicted to come out on the ps3.

....then it is quote possible for MGS4 as well to come to 360. I suppose the logic goes both ways then.

Well anything is possible I suppose. I recall the head designer of resident evil 4 said that he would cut off his own head if he ported the game to the ps2. He was extremely adamant about the gamecube exclusivity

just because a game is small on disc doesn't mean it is small in scope or complexity

If Final Fantasy XIII is not released in December 2008, it will be released early 2009.
Final Fantasy Versus XIII can be released on this year, but it's only speculations.

Thanks, I don't really care for FF Versus XIII as I barely know anything about it, I can't wait for Final Fantasy XIII though.
