PS4 may not be freely available in all current regions until this summer.
“We’re struggling to keep up with demand,” PlayStation boss Andrew House told The Wall Street Journal (http://blogs.wsj.com/digits/2014/03/20/sony-ps4-demand-will-outstrip-supply-into-the-summer/). “Conservatively, as we get into the early summer months, we’ll be closer to a full supply situation.”
Demand is said to be highest in the US and Europe.
The most recent PS4 global sales data, released earlier this month – said the machine had sifted 6m units (http://www.mcvuk.com/news/read/ps4-sales-surpass-6m-worldwide/0128980). Microsoft’s most recent update at the end of January confirmed that3.9m Xbox Ones (http://www.mcvuk.com/news/read/xbox-one-sells-3-9m-units/0127145) had been shipped to retail.
Xbox One will be released in an additional 26 territories (http://www.mcvuk.com/news/read/xbox-one-hitting-other-eu-countries-and-japan-in-september/0129760) this September.
