Dark AleX's CFW PSP 3.80 M33 Coming Tonight ?

Well its a bit of a guessing game at the moment on the release of the newest Custom Firmware to hit the PSP but this tidbit came from Team M33 on the IRC Chan last night:


We finally spotted the issue but don't expect a release too soon, it will be released done and fixed. Thanks for your undestanding

please people stop releasing fake M33 binaries or I add the word "M33" to the spam filter, thank you for your understanding.

good news we found precisely where the issue is and are currently fixing it, then it will be "testing time"

Again a global will be issued here and at malloc.us whenever the 3.80M33 becomes available, there is no need for refreshing the dark-alex.org page

Ok it wont be tonight folks, we need some decent sleep in here, tomorrow MAYBE.

How many of you will upgrade to this release from any of the older custom firmwares or official firmwares esp now that it looks like you dont have to update through various different firmwares ?

Since 3.71 M33 had a bad habit of eventually bricking my PSP Slims that 3.60 M33 did not, I will be happy to upgrade ASAP. And maybe Breath of Fire 4 will finally work...

hey mate i finally got my breath of fire 4 to work with 3.71 m33 you have use the 3.40 popsloader and then it should work i'll see if i can get a video of bof 4 working on 3.71 m33 and put it up on youtube ok

simply use the latest pops loader and get the 3.40 pops -.-

I didn't want to update as there were 3.52-1, 3.52-2, 3.52-3, 3.52-4, 3.71-1... and I thought with so many revisions of the same firmware Dark-Alex's quality management was in a spiral downward... But in fact I'm looking forward to this firmware! I think this one will be a "good" firmware again.

(I've put "good" in quotation marks because I don't want to offend sensibilities. But I've heard of many people having problems with these firmwares. My 3.40OE is just as stable as any official firmware, but there were many people reporting "Ahh, my 3.52-X keeps crashing")

firmwares crashing? i guess somebuddy doesn't know how to handle a pspee :x

BTT: can't wait to have a new firmware^^, my biggest hope is that the pops from 3.80 does read my cracked final fantasy 8 pal

I'll be happy if it is as easy to install as stated as have downgraded a few psp's for differant people and if its a easy install they can all put this on them selves. otherthan that as long as it plays the new games and still has homebrew support im happy anything else is a bonus.

Yeah final score Packers 42 Seahawks 20, and we spotted you 14 with those 2 fumbles in the first 2min, but my Ryan Grant made up for it by getting 3TD's and 201yrds. Sorry but we're going to the superbowl, just have one more game to win to get there, but we will win it.

Hmm. I wonder what the significance of Sunday is to Dark_AleX and team? Think back to a lot of Dark_AleX's other huge releases and they were on Sundays.

Because of that I always check in more detail for new releases of PSP homebrew news on Sunday of each week.

Its ready when its ready and will be released when they feel like it. I find it interesting that something happened between Dark_AleX and that other site that shall not be named. It would be nice to see Dark_AleX post here. But I'd hate to see time become even more of a burden on him due to him trying to keep up with tons of homebrew forums.

No. You'd only be able to update if you downgraded to 1.5 beforehand.

You would need a psp that is already a 1.5 or using custome firmware as alot of the work to make the memory stick and battery is done with psp homebrew so since you cant run that on a standard psp you would need some1 with a psp that can run homebrew to set it all up for you.
