Easily the greatest achievement in the rhythm game genre. The drums alone make it worth the purchase, but the fact I can rock out with my buddies in such an authentic way, while not everyone needs to even have any musical talent at all. :)

Who else here has Rock Band?

I'd love to get RockBand, but I don't want everything that it comes with, just the mic. =/

I'd get rock band if it didn't cost as much as a new Wii or 360...

Rock Band looks cool, it's a game that could well knock Guitar Hero and other musical related games from their perch.

If the drum kit had a foot pedal i would buy Rock Band.

I bet that if there was eventually a sequel there would be an upgrade to the drum kit, or an add-on.

I don't agree. Rock Band contains more shit songs than Guitar Hero.

Four 'pads', and a foot pedal. You play it the same as guitar hero except when you use the kicker it goes across the entire row (as opposed to the other toms which have their own channel)http://www.thebbps.com/blog/wp-content/uploads/2007/07/rock-band-drums.jpg

There are a few shit songs in Guitar Hero, but Rock Band looks better, I reckon that there will be a way to customize what songs are in the Rock Band game so you get all the songs you like.

Ehh, it does.

The orange bars that scroll down are for the kick pedal. You only get it on the harder difficulties, like the orange button in GH.

I want Rock Band, but it's not out here for a while.

Edit: Whoops, never realised SNESrox had already explained.

Oh wow, thanks guys.

Do GHIII guitars (ps3) work with it?

January 14th, 2008, 23:23
No, Activision blocked a patch that would allow it. It will come eventually.

The 360 version is compatible, so I don't know what their problem is with the PS3 one.

Damn, i hope a patch comes before UK release?

Last question :P - Will the be a Game + Drum package, or is it just whole pack and just game?

There will probably be an assortment of packages eventually, but for now if you want to really play it, get the 3-instrument bundle. It's really the only way to fully experience it, IMO.

aliens have genres of human music?!

Anyway, I'm quite content with guitar hero. I use it as a party game though mostly. I cant see myself blowing that much money on any 1 game. If you had it and I came to your house I'd be glad to play with you... but I'm not going to buy it. Guitar Hero... maybe.... Rock Band.... hells no.

Plus I wasnt too impressed with its line up of music. I have a lot more fun with Guitar Hero 2 and 3.

Would anyone be kind enough to post their actual set up of it.

It's going to be a while until it's released here in England but I'd like to know how much space it would take up, the drums at least anyway.

My thanks in advance.

Yes (possibly), if that's what your into.

I heard that you can play a more suited to you version of "What, What (JKK's Butt)" in a prison shower with about 10 or so inmates.
