Am just trying to get some concrete info before i upgrade my PSP to the latest DAX firmware.

Am still on 3.52-4 M33 cos i find that it's the most stable version for mapThis to work well (have tried mapThis on the 3.71(s) M33 versions but mapThis seems to be not as stable).

Hope to get some info soon..! Thanks in advance for all the effort..!

I updated a PSP 1001 (TA-079 mobo) to 3.80 m33-2 today and of course Mapthis was the first thing I tested. Good News. It worked great in my case. I tested it using the PSP-290 GPS Receiver. I got locked on in about one and a half minutes and locked onto as many as ten satellites with the cpu running slow (at the test/sat info screen) and eight satellites at 333 on the map screen. This was without my extension cable. Granted, the weather is perfectly clear skies with very low humidity and no clouds in site.

I said I upgraded a PSP-1001 with a TA-079 motherboard to 3.80 m33-2. The PSP-1000 series are the fat PSP's (1001 is a US released fat). Slim PSP's are the PSP-2000 series. The TA-079 motherboard is the original version of the fat PSP that was released.

Anyhow, if you can provide all the details of how it is setup and everything I will try to help out.

FYI I am using MapThis 5.2, running from the Game380 folder under 3.80 kernel so I don't see why it wouldn't run on a slim. I don't even have the 1.5 FW kernel add on installed so that's not it.

Hello,

I am also running mapthis on Phat PSP with 3.80 M33-2 and it is working fine (don't know the stability didn't test it very long) First i was running it on 3.52 M33-4 and this is what you have to do:

Copy the directory mapviewer from your PSP/Game352 to your computer (I had 3.52 M33 so thats why I have this directory). Also copy the Common map from PSP to your computer (there are my MAPS and POI in).

Now Install 3.80 M33-2 on your PSP and format your memorystick via the PSP.

Now make a connection with computer again and copy Mapviewer directory to PSP/Game380 directory. Also copy the Common map to PSP again.

Mapthis should work fine again.

I think this works for PSP Phat and Slim, the nice thing al your settings (language etc) and maps are kept.

Good luck:thumbup:

Do you know what motherboard your PSP is? They are trying to confirm it working on a TA-082. It ought to work just fine on it but I can't confirm this.

Ok, I have no TA-082. But the motherboard doesn't mather anymore i thougt. If you downgrade PSP's the TA-082 Motherboard are patched are am I wrong?
