I was wondering, If you use a hex editor to rename all ver 1.50 on the 1.50 pbp to say 1.53 wouldn't it count it as an updated version? here is an example in the pbp file when you open version 2 in a hex editor and go to string 32 2E 30 it says
ver 2.00 along with a bunch of other words. but the point is by changing the last number in this one it would be something like 2.01 for example. wouldn't it count it as an update from version 2.0? just wondering becaus that way we could download the version 1.50 and rename the code in the pbp to ver 1.53 and update to make your system a 1.50 again. just wondering thankyou.

I figured it had been tried before but I would like to see your pbp please. is your pbp a hacked version of 1.50 or something or is completely homebrew? anyway please send me your pbp I may be able to get some info from it. I will figure this out eventually.

it is version 1.50, but is masked as 2.10 and i am uploading to my site so you can download it. be careful, though. after starting the update, you will see a screen that says "the update cannot be started". press O and you will have a screen that says "PSP System Software Version". you must turn off your psp at that time. it takes a little longer than usual to turn off, but nothing is wrong.

its finished uploading!!! here is the link to download it. run it how you would with any other pbp file.

IC, when I tried your version of the 1.5 installer I get "The game could not be started. (80020148)"

Something's happening here. Remember I got "The update cannot be started. The data is corrupt" on my (very) simple hex edited version.

very very odd. if you watch the fuzzy video, you can at least see that the update was started.

There must be a simple bit of code we are forgetting about. If we could somehow find this bit of code we might be able to update back to a 1.50.
edit: before I try this is it possible to ruin my PSP with this update? also please list what changes you have made to the pbp file. thankyou.

... jesus what if i mentioned my little hex editing mishap back in JUNE!!!

lmao guys i did that i had no idea it was even close to anything possibly useful... i was such a noob hex editing was a ritual of witches in my little brain lol... nevertheless i did exactly that X.X to X.X1 and got a corrupted data update cannot be started....

i figured if i could trick the psp into thinking it was 1.51 it would boot .. then i could find a way to integrate the raw firmware dump into a working 1.0 update... what a small world...
