Icon KillerZ Vs1

ABOUT THE MOD

Icon KillerZ is based on CHARNOLDS amazing pspdungeons vs0.6 engine..The mod is themed after different video game "ICONS" this is the first of many installments of the icon killers series of mods. Naturally the most iconic of all video game "icons" would have to be that shroom eatin fireball spitin super mario :) so its only fitting version one offers a mario theme in whitch you can kill 3d models of Mario,Luigi and even the occasional Wario. there are a series of different style levels in this mod some more maze like than others..There is also a few humorous additions as far as sound effects ive done. (PLEASE listen to the song on the XMB icon its funny)

Tips for gameplay
1...REMEMBER TO STAY IN MOTION....SIDE STEP WITH L AND R BUTTON OR YOU WONT LAST LONG

2...REMEMBER TO WALK OVER DEAD BODY"S TO RECOVER HEALTH AND AMMO OR YOU WILL RUN OUT OF ONE OR BOTH THIS IS VITAL if you intend on beating all 20 some levels ;)

(future mods confirmed so far are a simpsons and tomb raider mod because ive found some worthy md3's for the task at hand :) also from filefront like these ones)

INSTALLATION

Just unzip the files contained in the archive then drag the game's contents too
the proper directory (ms0:/psp/game) and play!
Custom Firmeware Users be sure to set your kernell to 1.5 within your recovery menu or the game wont work for you ;) because dungeons it is such a detailed 3d engine it requires a great deal of kernall memory...

(note: you must use a psp capable of running in 1.5 kernell mode to play this
game ALL custom firmeware's can do this on the PSP original/phat to date..As of now the slim cannot...Srry)

This is totally awesome !! :D

Why is this (coolest mod of Dungeons yet) not on the front page ?

This is a fantastic mod, definitely deserves a front page. :)

Great texturing, level 15 being the first level of wolf3d is a nice touch.

It would be great if there was a way to increase the volume (especially on the voice samples), its pretty quiet at full volume. There seems to be hard paths in the code as the folders can't be renamed, I thought that was fixed in a previous version of dungeons. I can easily live with the corrupt icon though.

dejkirkby: Rapidshare link removed. The linked site wasn't responding for me for ages earlier. Whats wrong with mirroring for those without a torrent client?

I'd prefer if you didn't mirror bah, if you don't mind.

FIRST OF ALL we will make a update with louder sound samples within the week for you my friend... :D keep yours eyes out at the psp playground :P and thank you so much for the gr8 feedback

well in both torrent client and playground we can see how many downloads it gets...this is important to Vetta....we have put a lot of time into the mod so he wants to keep track of its responses

(so we know if we will make future Icon Killers Mods available here at dcemu (or if it bombs) just keep them over at the playground as exclusives where all the modder's hang out)

If you dont feel like contributing a little feedback at the playground we offer the torrent link so you can leave feedback in your comments there because the Banned 4ever DCemu Pro VettaCossX of this mod is not welcome here by all..(at least by staff besides SP anyway) Vetta respects the members and has very little respect for the staff here in the past...its a fact ;) lol... so dej was good enough to share this with everyone here ;) ....

Very Nice release, i love the Mario theme :)

Now as for the comment about the staff, i dont remember what happened but as long as people toe the line then everyone will get on, posting things like blah has little respect for staff doesnt win any friends.

Now i love work like this and im OK with hosting on torrent if thats what you wish. But lets keep everything civil.

Nice release though :)

Okay, that is awesome!

Nice work, Vetta (if your browsing). :)

wraggster, Vetta was flaming staff and then he removed his posts to make it look like he hadn't done anything.

It looked fun, but I can't get it to work - I've got a phat 3.80m33-4 (w/1.5 kernal add-on) - tried 1.5 kernal mode, put files in game150 folder, also tried in game folder - no go - what am I doing wrong ?

Other 1.5 programs work fine.

dazzlemi: Did you rename the folder at all?
Renaming it will cause it to not run (black screen then PSP shuts off).

PeyeRate420: Fair enough, I was trying to post it here because I thought the lack of local link was keeping it from getting on the front page which the mod deserves. What you said makes sense though, as long as I can dl it from somewhere.
QJ is mirroring the file btw.

Thanks for the louder version info :)
It's probably supposed to be that way, but one level (a later one, say around 20, ill play though again and see which), there is a texture that looks corrupt directly in front of you when you start, you walk into it and the level is over.
I like the level where you start with your face to the wall and there's a ton of guys behind you, that made me jump.

I don't think I renamed it - I'll try again - should it be put in game150 or game ? Does the 150.pbp need to be in the root of PSP (for 1.5 kernal mode - Its not) ?

It does act like you said - black screen then PSP shuts off

I just tried again - it worked this time. The only difference that I can see is that before I copied just the dungeon folders into psp/game - this time I copied the psp folder in archive folder to root of psp - that shouldn't have mattered - perhaps I was missing some files

Thanks for the help
