SEGA has released the final box art for the March 2008 release of Viking: Battle for Asgard. See the Playstation 3 and Xbox 360 cover art below.

About the game: "Viking: Battle for Asgard thrusts players into a twisted mythological world overrun with demonic warriors unleashed by Hel, the Norse goddess of death. As Skarin, a rage-fueled Viking hero, players will wage all-out war to free mankind from the grip of evil and ultimate annihilation. Enemies will suffer graphic dismemberment with disturbing realism from an array of Skarin's melee, range and magic attacks. Upgradable combat skills and Skarin's otherworldly abilities create an ever-changing landscape of epic violence and heroic victory."

Watch for it this March. Sword or axe? Playstation 3 or Xbox 360? Both!

I'm clearly getting too old for all of this. I guess it's down to popularity, but it is really rather sad to me to see "my hobby" overtaken by wave after wave of murder-em-ups.

Sorry if that sounds cr*p but that image of the box-art, coupled with the write-up, just upset me.

Edit: I'm not saying games involving pretend killing are a bad thing, just that it seems to be ceasless and the only differentiation is the level of gore.
