These Types of cooling fans are actually bad for your system. I have heard from many people that after using something like this their ps3's make some very unusual noises. If your ps3 has a problem with overheating, then it is worth it. Otherwise you are trying to fix a problem that doesn't need fixing and that could potentially be a bad thing.

Are the older model's easier to overheat? Either way, I heard the fans suck, usually break pretty fast, and make a lot of noise...Not sure bout this one, but I hear more complaints from them than anything.
