Dark Alex has released a new version of the V1.5 Kernal addon to his M33 Custom Firmware for 3.90M33, heres whats new:

Instructions. Copy to /PSP/GAME and run.

Changes:

- TA086: when being in 4th brightness level and recovering from sleep mode, the display was black. Fixed.
- Added support in the 1.50 kernel for memory sticks greater than 4 GB.
Before, only the first 4 GB portion was recognized by the 1.5 kernel.
Now, the theroetical limit is 4GB*512 = 2 Terabytes. ("only" 1 TB, if sony were using signed variables).

@gamefreak199101: Next time, include the readme information before you post to begin with.

Anyway, it's good to see more improvements and fixes to the 1.50 kernel in cfw 3.90 M33.

Dark_AleX continues with not only improving his CFW but also opening up more opportunities. Support for 8GB memory sticks while using 1.50 kernel is a HUGE feature if you ask me. I'm someone who likes to hold almost complete USA romsets for the emulators I use so being able to use high capacity memory sticks makes PSP homebrew & emulation as well as CFW that much more convenient.

Thanks again Dark_AleX!

I totally agree.
>4GB support for 1.5 is a HUGE feature!
This is reason alone for me to upgrade.
Time to buy an 8GB MS.

Edit: Holy Crap! I just read that DA has released a PRX that enables this for almost all his cfw! (mspatch.rar)

Same. I was hoping that the 2nd add-on for 3.90 would have Slim support, but oh well.. I can wait. I can use all my apps without 1.50 Kernel.

Edit: Nice! Support for Memory Sticks greater than 4gb, I didn't notice.

um guys... theres no 1.50 kernel addon from 3.71m33+ 4 slim users 4 a reson. it wont work. i thot evr1 new that. if u read info 4m around the time of 3.60m33, u would hav realized that the firmware files used in 1.50 were made 2b compatible with phat hardware, not slim. slim uses different hardware, thus needs 2b programed 4 differently. thats y no 1.50 support 4 slim users...sorry 2 burst ur bubble guys ^_^'

lol, everyone knew that 1.50 Kernal is not for Slims :rofl:

That's why Slim Users are waiting for "DAX'S Time Machine".

even 1 terabite i donīt think is possible... that would take a 100 in 1 usb connector give or take a thousand (somewhere between ``or`` and ``give`` most likely ;)).

if anyone is looking for something to do, crank out how many 8gig memsticks it would take to fill up all the space

keep in mind:

kB = 1,024B
MB = 1,024kB
GB = 1,024MB
so....
TB = 1,024GB

if you put 1,000 instead, thatīs an error

why not have a plugin to hook up a external hdd to the psp through the usb like the guy with his 32gb internal hdd on acidmods
example:

external hdd - usb cable - usb mini adapter -psp!

16GB sticks cost about $230 right now.
But that will change in 6~8 months.

I would be happy with 32GB

USBhostfs isn't as easy as it sounds.
There is good reason why it hasnt been released to the public.

The mspatch released by DA certainly opens the door to larger storage.

Lol, don't worry, nobody's perfect.

And yeah, you don't see any use to 1.5 Kernel because you probably joined the scene not so long ago and now, every APP is coming with 3.XX kernel support. But those who are here since the very beginning miss many applications that don't support 3.XX kernel, because, well... there was no 3.XX kernel by that time. :p And sadly, some of that applications never were updated and will never be.
