This exploit does not work with every version of Zelda:TP. Easy way to check your version is to compare the text string which is on the inner cycle of the data surface with the ones below.

RVL-RZDP-0A-0 JPN - working
RVL-RZDE-0A-0 JPN - working
RVL-RZDE-0A-2 USA - reportedly not working

It would be amazing if the homebrew community could make use of head tracking before commercial titles do. Unofficial games offering types of gameplay it seems even the creator of the system hadn't imagined.

A big component of the Wii's popularity with 'non-hardcore' gamers is the control and how it encourages you to stand and move around rather than slouch in a chair. How cool would it be to be able to move around and actually have perspective taken into account, where moving to the side lets you see around an obstacle that was previously in the way. Or just to look cool if that proves difficult.

I know i bring up head tracking on pretty much every Wii thread imaginable, but its just a far too impressive (to me at least) idea to not warrant further experimentation.

I would also like to know if this works on the PAL version.

I'm just about to test it in my PAL Wii, I'll let you know how it goes!

Can't wait for the homebrew that will come of this, let's just hope Nintendo don't catch on too quick! T__T

[Edit]

Worked a treat on my launch day PAL Wii console and launch retail copy of Twilight Princess. Really excited now, everyone involved deserve a pat on the back!

RVL-RZDP-0A-0 JPN (PAL version) working.

yeh basicaly this is just a file to say look what we can do but i put money on a firmware that stops this will probly come out on something like mario kart just have to hope nintendo leaves this open. if it does let us do import games eventualy that would be great games too long to get to the uk.

I'm not sure what Nintendo can and can't do with a firmware update, so does anyone know if they can stop this with one if we already have the save on our consoles? I really don't want this to be patched, and I still want to be able to use stuff like the Wii Shop Channel.

the psp had a similar hack with liberty city stories and another game sony stoped it with a firmware update so asuming this wont be that differant meaning nintendo could just detect how the code is injected then get the wii to ignore or block it.

Ya, just tested this on the US version (first release 2006). Works like a charm :) I stopped updating long ago when I first heard about these guys (that, and I haven't touched the Wii in months xD).

first post and probably a stupid one but here goes...this at the moment does not actually do anything apart from crashing the wii..or am i missing something??

DPyro
February 12th, 2008, 18:52
Crashes the Wii, then displays a 'Hello World' type program, or proof of concept.

This (http://wiidev.memiks.com/down/rzde2.bin) file is reported working for the people with RVL-RZDE-0A-2 USA version. I don't have that version, so can someone confirm?
