For a first game program it was relatively good, however, as a sonic themed game I couldn't enjoy it at all.

Just to remind folks - this is a LUA app and won't work on the Slim.

there is a version of luaplayer 2.0 that is firmware 3x compatible

and aside from ir and some usb glitches it works perfectly on the slim

unfortunately almost all lua scripters are too busy ripping off games to actually research anything

Green Sonic.... Horrid Green Sonic...

Yeah, I'm a Sonic Fan, I used to be around the Hacking scene, but Ashura is a glitch in Sonic 2 that would change Sonic's palette to green and black... Why diddn't you just keep it as Sonic? Not some glitchy recolour, then I might of considered downloading it.

The logo looks so tacky for a start that you can see that you've cut and pasted the Sonic 2 Logo out of some sprite sheet, then with MS Paint tried to "paint" out the "2" Logo, and then using some Generator for some really "Cool" text just copied and pasted that straight on top of the "SONIC" it's still visable, what you made a two minute job there?

Sorry to be harsh if you are reading this and all, but it's not very appealing to download if you notice the 5 minute job logo...

Actually, that "SONIC" isn't still "visable". It's the way GIMP does a certain text script-fu. Just some gray area...... But yeah the 2 is kind of.. meh...

How can you judge a game based on the logo? No, come on, by your logic your saying that just because the logo isn't up to scratch the actual game must be rubbish.
What if I said the PS3 logo is rubbish? Oh, the PS3 must be a load of crap. And the games? Horrible, the logo has a tiny bit wrong so yeah the games in overall suck.
Stop trying to find insignificant things wrong with the logo and play the damn game!

Thats v true. Maybe the poster of the news (or even the games coder) should release actual screen shots instead of the title screen pics as this can often be misleading.

I'm not the biggest LUA fan so I won't be trying this. ...Nice effort from the coder though - at least this guy is contributing to the homebrew scene in some way.

Screenshots or there for a reason you know. To try to appeal to the audience so they look at it and go "Hey that looks pretty good, I'll download that and give it a go."

Oh and you can clearly see the leftover pixels from where "SONIC" use to be:

I got that - there's a 1.5 version and a 1.0 version. The 1.0 version fails to run in 3.90 M33 on my slim.

yes i know the title screen isn't very pretty...but then gain this is a demo release and work on the game is still being done...the title screen had to be thrown together sort of last minute to get this demo out and released so i could get some feedback and suggestions before continuing...and yes there are screen shots of the actual game play in the origional thread...
and here is one:::

Meh, I not a big LUA fan either, but nice job anyway. I'm always interested in a good sonic hack.

I have to say though I seen a lot better hacks done, really sick ones with knuckles in sonic 1 and all kinds of sprite/palette changes. Check it out for seriously http://info.sonicretro.org/Category:Hacks

Yeah, I saw the update on that yesterday. Works great! Now if the folks releasing LUA games would start using this instead of the old versions they currently use...
