View Full Version : Homebrew on the Mattel HyperScan?

Has anyone fiddled with any type of homebrew on the system? It was just recently axed by Mattel, and can be obtainted on ebay hella cheap (like $10). Not only that, but it appears the console has ZERO copy/regional/media protection whatsoever.

In case if anyone needed the specs of the machine, its running a SunPlus S+ core SPG290 processor, with full specsheet here:

If no one hasn't, I implore you to look into it. It has the potential to be a homebrew beast. The system appears to be running on an integrated version of eCOS, and has OpenGL ES 1.0 capabilities (forget it only being a 106~Mhz processor, can anyone say fullspeed Quake with hardware rendering?).

Not only are the controller ports standard PS/2 ports, but it has a blasted USB port on it, how hard can it be to hack the blasted thing?
